I've seen those kits (body) on ebay from time to time. Can't recall the price though, but looks like an awesome project.

I just ordered one kit in full metal for 180 Euro which include lower+upper hull in all 3mm aluminium then add the metal gear, belts, sprockets and roadwheels. The only thing I need to figure out, is where to get the gun barrel.

I will post pictures of my build as it goes on

cheers

Steenv,Can`t wait to see your build on this Elephant. Have looked on the internet and haven`t found anyone who carries it in 1/16, r.c. or not. Great choice on your part of a tank killer.

so, have worked on the basic build, while waiting for all the other parts to arrive. Its pretty easy to fit, best thing about the aluminium is that it doesnt bend. The chassis is now very stiff and stable as well as the superstructure.

I used a lot of gaffatape to keep everything into place after glueing

Will upload pics as build goes on

cheers

Hi all
As promised are some pics of my build so far.

Lower hull + upper hull is put together.
Made rear hatch in 3mm styrene and glued the smaller alluminium part on the back side of the hatch to ad some weight
Stug commander hatch modded to fit
Made styrene frame for gun mantlet and installed the bolts
Made styrene frame for added gun mantlet armour and glued the outer gun barrel part for the recoil system
Gearbox plate installed
Gears are ready to be installed
Roadwheels have arrived. Need to make some L shaped mounting plates
Antenne base on rear glued and the wire for the antenna is installed

Next I need to drill holes for all the bolts on the superstructure and install them

After this, all the upper hull parts must be scratch made ie hatches, periscope and on and on and on….. ïŠ

Belts have arrived also
Gun barrel is also here
Gun travel lock is here in metal from Wecohe

More pics will come as the build continues
