Thought I would share this with everyone incase anyone is looking for a cooling fan for their tank...This morning I found an old playstation 2 for $3 at a garage sale...I opened it up and it had a perfect cooling fan..It was about 40mm and was 7v...although the wires were alittle small that can be easily delt with...So if you have an old ps2 you wana through out now you no where to get a good cooling fan...

Thanks for the info. Pc fans are fairly cheap anyway, so I doubt I'll be gutting any of my PS3's, Ps2's or 360's for a fan. lol<div>Although the chances of one of my 360's or Ps3's or Ps2's will fail now that it's outside of it's warranties....They're still worth the fix, lol. I like the 5v 2.5cm fans, they're nice and small and do the job. So do 40mm ones at 12v, but then again....I don't drive my tank hard for 20-45 minutes straight (I don't think most anyone does even when battling)...so, I'm not all that concerned with fanning the fets.</div>

Tony it is not just driving for long intervals but stalling the motors that can bake the FET's. So with any of the HL boards it is still avery good idea to install fans on all of your boards.

Beg to differ with you on the battling, Tony. Longest combat I ever saw was BTTW for over one and a half hours. Quite often campaigns and 4 tank competitions can last 30 to 60 mikes. However, with Tamiya you don't need cooling fans. Just run 'em and enjoy.

Well, I was referring to the actual driving duration in these HL tanks, not including idle time. While I simply followed everyones advice on the installation of a cooling fan on my Tiger, I personally haven't seen any reason to add a fan to my KV which I've ran that tank for longer durations...I always check the boards right after driving to see if they've actually gotten hot....I don't see it. The RX18 board was on the verge of being hot in my PIII, but...it's substantially heavier than the KV or Tiger, so I can see the reasoning of requiring a pc fan in an HL tank exceeding 10-13 pounds. While I will most definitely add them to PIII, I'll add one to the KV for precautionary measures just like I did the Tiger.
