Hello again
Can someone educate me reg. the DBC units and the Gas Sound module. Do these units work only with H.L electronics OR can someone put together their own system to run their own tank? I would like to r.c my own Ferdinand, eventually. I would like it to have Engine sound, machine gun sound, main gun firing / light effect muzzle as well as being able to be able to compete in I.R tank vs. tank battles, take the number of hits and be knocked out etc.
I don`t know which direction to go for that equipment. H.L or Tamiya etc.
Any suggestions would Greatly be Appreciated.
Thanks To All.
P.S. Hope this does not constitute a thread high jacking ?
Sorry if I did.

One of the best plug and play options is the Tamiya. It does all of what you ask without a bunch of wierd science. Dollar for Dollar hard to beat, but I sure keep trying!!!!!!
The sound module will run with any RX. The DBC is designed to work with the HL electronics, so that is what it does very well. THe DBC2 allows you to use a regular radio with the Heng Long electronics, and then of course has all the IR fighting capability of a Tamiya.

This is a good sound module developed by a gentleman named alan bond from the uk. A friend of mine and I tried recreating this module using a STM8-discovery module but was unsuccessful, however we started over writing our own code from scratch on the ST part and came up with some much better sounding code. We are intending on marketing it as a competitor of the creeping death unit as a much cheaper alternative but I've since gotten extremely busy at work and haxent had time to work on it. Also, been developing a tank controller from scratch that would be the end all of controllers. It also is stalled out with the hours im putting in at the tank plant. by the way if anyone needs Abrams info let me know.

I used to communicate with Alan before and after purchasing the first kit. He came off as a real ***** when I first had issues, really wanting nothing to do with problem solving or helping me when I had troubles. To quote, "Frankly I don't have time or interest to poke about with the errors you speak of, as this was open source coding for those with experience or wanting a side project." But after that comment, a few hours later, I guess he felt bad and then tried to help me.......but I ended up going with Strmnd54 anyway, as that comment made me a little peeved.<div>

t</a>here you go. Jason is the best place to get the DMD and MF units, these are not really modules as you weould think of them but the entire ESC and sound systems combined.
Now he does not have all the units all the time. He breaks down kits and sells them as parts so what ever he has on hand at the time is what he sells.

that way we can have them on hand when someone comes up with a way to implement them.
