RE: TWO EXTRACTS CONNECTED...

I don't think there's any argument that the Tamiya system IS the standard. As for the 45 degree deal, at ranges of less than 3 or 4 m, it doesn't work anyway. I personally never had a problem when someone tried that defense, I'd simply have me and a mate stalk him and kill him. One problem as I mentioned before was the slope defense combined with a non stock elevation, allowing a tank to sit on a hill side and tag you with his apple in essence covered by the angle of his roof. Again, stalk him and make him move. And elevations will be in the rules. Nothing more than prototypical elevation or depression allowed.

OK, gentlemen Here's a trick I've used and seen used in 4 tank competitions. I don't often relay tactics about, and I'll never tell you how to kill my JT, but this one is a good one, and easy.

Team of 4 tanks leaves the starting gate, clandestinely divided up in to two two tank teams. One team agressively engages the bad guys and keeps them occupied. The other two tank team then chooses a victim, stalks and kills him. When he's dead, they choose another and kill him. With any skill at all, the other two have held the bad guys in check, and you then turn on the remaining two bad guys and kill them. Takes practice and training, and commo between your team mates, but really quite easy.

To be successful, gentlemen, this must be a team effort, like the real tanks. Practice, get your tactics down pat, practice marksmanship too. Just shooting in the general direction of Brand X may get you the odd hit, but go for accuracy and watch the kill rings on your main tube expand rapidly. I remember the first time I went to Dville, and me and Duke thought we was pretty good. Then this little guy with a Sherman, otherwise known as our resident genius Daryl Turner, proceeded to snipe my narrow butt....from all the way diagonally across the Dville battlefield! I never forgot that, and of course after a couple more Danvilles under my belt I returned the favor.

Still and all, we can attempt to tweak the TBU, but some of us will always figure out a way to hide the tank or go to ground with it, and kill you...unless YOU LEARN TOO!!
