LOOK AT THIS!!!

RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
You shouldn't post stuff like that - it gives me ideas... [:@]
Real expensive ones.... [:@] |
RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
Very interesting Joe,see if you can get some more info on these. i AM CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR THE pROFILINE kv-85 RESIN CONVERSION KIT FOR MY kv-1.
|
RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
Looks very nice Joe, but OMG...the price..[X(] Even the unassembled, incomplete partials are pricey, and the complete thing without RC and shipping added....too rich for my retired budget.
|
RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
Better be quick, I thought they went OOP a while back [&:] I hear the Juwa kit is a poor substitute, but I'm resigned to it...
(That would have made so much more sense if I had gotten that off quicker....) The Profiline is OOP, good luck finding one |
RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
I agree the price is very high, but a lot of time went into the kit. It is shwon in great detail on the UK forums. I do not plan to purchase one, as I have too many projects right now, but I figured ti would be nice to pass on.

RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
I want one, I really want one....[:@]

RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
LOL, then my work is done here! :D Figure, I don't want to be the only one spending my money on tanks!
|
RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
I already have more tanks than you shake a stick at... I don't need any more ideas [&o]

RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
WHY? Why did you have to show me that??? I was telling myself that the kit is not worth it...ohhh blast it all.....
|
RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
I was thinking of getting it too, but I'm saving up for a Tamiya Panther! :D

RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
LOL!!! I wish they had the tank sounds on that video. I am figuring it has Tamiya electronics in it? I wonder if it has recoil... I really want one of those things!

RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
ORIGINAL: RSEA ORIGINAL: Pzjgr I was thinking of getting it too, but I'm saving up for a Tamiya Panther! :D Yes this is the IS-2 I was talking about last week, I asked Frank (the maker of the kit) on mmodell.de forum to show me a video of it before I bought it. It does look good but as Joe (Yellowshaker) pointed out he does not show the recoil or elevation working in the viedo. He did say you can use Tamiya electronics in it though and the gearboxes are Asiatam. I'll try and get the pics of his first build and post it here later. And I traded Ethan my Panther for his Pershing (wanted an American heavy). What I want to do eventually is have every 1/16 tank Tamiya made. Right now I have a Tamiya Jagdpanther waiting to be built (waiting for bearings). Duane |

Actually Frank posted pics of his first test build here:
http://www.rctankwarfare.co.uk/forum...hp?f=23&t=6245 And as Ex_Pat_Tanker pointed out the turret is the Juwa KV-85 turret. Joe here is is pic of Frank's turret with the recoil and elevation. |
RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
Well, that is just great...Now I have this monster added to my list of tanks to purchase....
|
RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
Does anyone have a direct link to a supplier that has the Profiline KV-85 turret kit. i want to convert my HL KV-1 too a KV-85 and cant find a site that has it.
|
RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
How about using that extra T-34/85 you have . Strip the turret off that for the KV-1 chassis.</p> |
RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
Unfortunately Profiline no longer makes the KV-85 conversion kit. But you could try and contact them through their website and see if they still have any in stock or if they plan to reintroduce the kit later:

RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
I initially thought this was a complete newly developed kit.. I remember seeing the posts by "chris3" on RCTankWarfare about this model back in November.. Then you have newer posts added to the same thread by "riebe" (who must be Frank). Maybe "Chris3" was also Frank and he changed screen names? It is confusing as to who originally created the hull, Frank or someone else.
This model is not a "new" kit per say. The model appears to be a conglomeration of different model parts made by different "manufacturers". It looks like it consists of the following: These components from Frank - scratch built metal lower tub/hull scratch plastic upper hull scratch metal gun and muzzle brake maybe some scratch detail parts (I say scratch as in Frank, Chris3 or someone created these themselves.) These components from other manufacturers (Juwa and Asiatam) - Juwa KV-85 turret Asiatam KV-1 late roadwheels, return rollers and idler wheels modified Asiatam KV-1 Sprocket wheels? Asiatam KV-1 swing arms Asiatam KV-1 torsion bars possibly metal, again, Asiatam KV-1 tracks In other words, I think you could buy the basic upper and lower hull kit, along with the gun barrel and muzzle brake from Frank. Then buy everything else from Asiatam and Juwa separately. If you get it all from Frank I think it ends up costing $750 + shipping. And that does not include electronics or motors/gearboxes. Duane said the gearboxes are Asiatam, it sounds like almost 100% of the running gear and suspension is Asiatam. Maybe it would cost less buying the components separately, I don't know.. Add DMD, MF and motors/gearboxes to the $750 and you have a good $1000 to $1100 tank and that still doesn't include traverse, recoil and elevation units. It makes a $700 Tamiya KV kit look like a good deal in comparison. I have not compared photos of the Asiatam late KV wheels etc. with what is on Frank's model, but I tend to think that is what they probably are. I like the 2mm thick lower tub/hull, being double the thickness of Tamiya's 1mm thick tubs. Shouldn't need any gearbox braces with this particular hull. I'll be curious to see how this IS-2 hull kit sells.. |
RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
Have to admit, it does really look impressive..I like the realistic loose, sloppy track and the 360 degree traverse....missed the elevation/depression of the gun. Did they maybe run out of paint for the road wheels? Maybe a JS-III in the making:eek:

RE: LOOK AT THIS!!!
I was actually curious aboutthe slack they run in those tracks. I do not currently have a Tamiya KV1, but the ones I have seen have the track tension much tighter. I questioned one guy about it and I was told that they cannot be run very loose like the real ones because they will definitely throw the tracks...Anyone else know about this?

I have an SU-152 with the lower hull of a Tamiya KV-1, I ran my tracks lose at last Saturday's battle and had no problems (was the tanks first battle). Duane |
