RE: KV-85 Project
Have fun with that. Mine was fun but it became a bit tedious. You might find you need to move that gunners hatch also.

RE: KV-85 Project
I guess I exceeded the limit because there is about 10 more pics that I loaded, some with better detail. I also did push the little flower thingy on the camera rto get better definition but it isn't the best camera in the first place.<div> I have built my own recoil mechanism stay for the Pershing recoil unit that i will be using then a servo elevation system will be installed.</div><div> This all worked out kinda of funny. The entire elev, recoil and gun assembly will be able to be removed from the front of the turret at the gun mantlet section. It just worked out that way since i was not able to keep the turret assembly split to obtain the shape i needed so it is actually a pretty neet set up. just have to get a few dollars together to get the Pershing recoil unit. I think i have a servo around somewhere and i want to use a Dionysus camera positioner module to rate the servo elevation like I did in my HL/Tamiya Pershing. That thing works great.</div><div> I hope you all like it. If you dont well to each is own. Everybody has their own tastes.</div><div> I just always really liked the KV hull just hated the turrets, so i thought i would try this. If I had the money i could have just bought the KV-1S kit because the turret is very similar just too small for the gun that ws finally used.

Looking good so far!!</p> |
RE: KV-85 Project
There's almost a complete tube of Squadron green on there so far. That was just to help get the general shape in order. That phase is just about complete. A touch up here and there then it's on to the mechanicals. Which by far is much easier IMO. It is very difficult to make something like this without proper scaled drawings with angles and degree's. It all must be done by eye from some pretty schetchy photos at times.
