Better do some reading. Lathes are extremely dangerous to the inexperienced. Very easy to get hurt.
There are some very good web sites on small machine shops. Based around the hobbiest project.
There are also hundreds of tools and bits for lathes. You cant just take any tool bit and do what ever with it. There are all types for different material.
plastics take one type, brass another, there is also the use of oil and lubricants for turning specific materials. there is a lot too learn so take your time and enjoy your new tools.

Hi,
This tank is near by my house, please notice that there are no struts on 3rd& 4th wheel.

Wow.......I never noticed that before! I wonder why there aren't any shock absorbers (struts) on those road wheels. That seems very strange.
All of the wheels also have torsion bar suspensions. The struts support the tank body and dampen the springs. Same concept as the struts in a car.

Mergen, nice work so far. Looks like a challenging build.

I 'm also wondering why...anyway there is 1:35 model of which we could check the suspension detail. Once I tried to take a close look at the real bulldog but the soldier there didn't allow me LOL.
By the way if you guyswatch the 1:16 Heng Long one moving...you'll find that the 3rd. or 4th. road wheel always goes up closely or touching the 3rd.roller wheel above.

Hi Siam
Phillipat got it right. The full size M41 has torsion bar suspension on the 5 road wheels (both sides, being slightly offset), with the damper springs on the 1st, 2nd & 5th wheel stations.
The HL M41 doesn't have torsion springs at all, so needs the damper springs on all 5 wheel stations. Guess it was easier/cheaper to do it that way?
Yes, I know about the road wheels hitting the return rollers, one of my M41's arrived in country with 3 broken return rollers - no packing between the hull & box, which I'm assuming got dropped several times.
