I don't know what the guy did to it....when I was at Danville, I was told that they bought it and drove it around the back for a while. On driving it into the building, the tranny housing split and somehow messed up the engine. When we installed the engine : (Ford 4 banger with C-3 auto tranny) we lowered it in, lined up everything with the differential and made new engine mounts as we went.
Somehow, this guy must have taken the enine out and putting it back, did not allign everything. As I understand, the T-16 now has a new engine and tranny. It was bad enough that he removed my gun, gun mount and ammo racks as well as kept the Bazooka, radio and Browning M-1919A4. It ran fine when I had it and never had any maintenance issues. |

Here's the T-16 as it stood a while ago at Danville. Wonder what happened to the edit link on the site...

RE: LOL
Agree...have to give him credit though...he is a good metal worker and welder and made it look like a factory made thing...which I was preventing...This was a field retrofit and no T-16s were issued in this configuration. Sure would like to know what he did with the armament and dummy ammo. The mock 37mm rounds I made from St York 40mms and the three dummy 2.36" bazooka rounds were hard to find. The Bazooka was made by a friend with a bore of 2.30 . The gun took a loooot of acetylene to assemble and mount to the floor, and that stuff ain't cheap. Looking at it now, I'm sorry I sold it, although I had to maintain a trailer and truck to haul it around.
