VS Tank Tiger 1 Cannon Problem
I just purchased two of these RC tanks, a Sherman M4 Pro and a Tiger 1 Pro Early version. The problem I am having is that when the Tiger first fires up, I can shoot the cannon only once. After the initial shot, the cannon no longer responds, no matter how long I wait; the machine gun works flawlessly though. I have rebound it to the TX numerous times but the problem persists. The Sherman on the other hand is perfect and works excellently. The detail on these tanks is awesome. Has anyone encountered this issue with the cannon?

Most likely a problem with the airsoft unit it self. It is simple enough to get a new unit and replace it completely as opposed to trying to fix it. not worth the effort in most cases. From the sounds of it there is some type of problem with the mechanism not so much electronics. May have a problem with the micro switch not cycling.

Had the same problem with a T72 it was my fire button. Had to take the TX apart and clean the button pad with electronic parts cleaner.
To find out open the TX and switch the CONTROL BUTTON CABLES around. I have lots of 1/24 vs and FOV tanks tried 1/16 HL ran well no problems. Just like 1/24. Also they have a lot of 1/24 and 1/20 figures out now. The tanks run well outside on dry dirt. I also have a call into IMMORTAL HOBBIES for a VS TK 22 that is compatible with a Tamyia system. They told me they could get one but never got back in touch. Probably don't car about us 1/24 guys. Also I open up the trans. and make sure there are no barbs on the gears and then fill them up 50% with spray lithium grease. I grease all the gears in the tanks (works a lot better ) Also on FOV get rid of the battery box and connector and use a 7.2V 3/4A cell 1600 ma r/c battery pack. It slows down the tank runs more realistic. The VS tanks have 2 power take offs so you have to rewire it for a 8.4 3/4 A cell pack plus cut out the battery compartment with a Dremel tool (need to compleat this ). But wanted to do the TK22 thing first on a zero vs tank. To me 1/24 tanks are like Lionel Trains trains thay are starting to have it all and fit anywere. I see the 3 major groups will be 1/72,(1/24,25) and 1/16, just like trains. Well I just had ti rant some were sorry. Hope this helps and I have the time to do the things I want to with 1/24. Also I'll take all the input I can get on making 1/24 tanks reach a thousand dollars each (no toys here).:p |
Colt, I know it isn't the transmitter because I have two of the VS Tanks and it does the same thing with either transmitter. Thanks for the reply, BTW - Like your handle. I have 5 Colts and love them all.

Colt I care about all tankers, as I stated in my mail to you I don't stock the VS boards because that is not my scale and believe me it is difficult enough just working in the 1/16 world. send me a Pm and I'll add your board with my next order.

You know if you get me one your going to have more problems. I'm going to show it on the forums and point in your direction.
Thanks Dude! |

Chuck all the connections are on connectors on the main board inside the tank. Unplug them and reinstall them. Has to be a bad connection.
Here are some pics that might help that I took when taking apart some vs Tiger tanks. Also some pics that might help if you work on the trans. The not too good pic is the slipper clutch. O yeah, have one long colt. |
Yeah, I watched the video on VS Tank website. I may try that although I am a bit leery about voiding the warranty. I have emailed Hobbico's customer service and see what they say. Hopefully I can send it back and get a new one. Thanks for the replies.

If I remember correctly, VStank airsoft units do have a microswitch in front of the unit itself, under the barrel, which triggers the gun sound and tank recoil.
Since that microswitch is small, check that it doesn't get stuck pressed after you fire the first time. |
borealis, I don't have the airsoft version, I have the infrared version. Thanks for the reply.
|
This is what I think the problem is. It is a microswitch that controls recoil and tells the gun it is OK to fire again. If the wires look OK then the small actuating arm may need to be tweaked.

like I said before, Micro switch. Doesn;t matter if it is air soft or recoil IR. The switch still controls the gun cycle.
