Latest update: as I won't be using this as an RC model, I want to add more detail than comes stock out of the box. I have fore-gone the led light (wires are too thick etc) in lieu of making the wiring more accurate, as per the real thing.

I built the kV-1 that uses the same hull. Mine was not quite as bad as yours however. The method of installation can bend them, so I just bent them back.

Hi Rustytrax. Just sorted them...I simply pulled the arms down and it obviously stretched/bent the torsion bars just enough! Thats one thing less to worry about :)

A few more little updates using one of the Aber PE upgrade sets (machine gun and grills). I've used poly cement and a stippling brush to try to get a cast/rough affect on the front (just hope it looks ok after painting!!). Will do all of it obviously :D

Some Aber details. And I have scratch-built the fender supports to make them a lot thinner than the stock Tamiya ones. I used 0.5mm plasticard. And then placed individual bolts/nuts where needed.

Applied the primer to the hull at last. I'm not too happy with the casting texture (or lack of) and this was especially evident on the turret. I went over the primer with glue and stippled - this gave a pretty good effect. I think I will do the same with the hull too.

So ran into a detail issue when I installed the drive sprockets...the stock rock-guards are nowhere near long enough and don't protrude enough towards the hub. I've cut them in two and inserted some plasticard to extend them. The pics show the comparisons.
