Gear stowed! I'm experimenting with microballoons and acrylics paint....looks like it makes good "mud"

While I detail my tank I've been working on my first village building...here is a pic of the progress on that.

Question about tread tightness...mine crackle as they turn are they too tight?

THanks in advance.

Did you use a primer before application of the olive drab paint? Also, have you used a dull coat or is what we're seeing just a paint and wash layer?

Great job on the tiedowns! I don't know why but they really add to the look of the tank.

Is this the paint you used?

Yep...used testors primer-gray...on everything. Haven't used a dull coat...thinking about it. It is just paint and wash right now.

This is a picture of the paint I used.

Thanks...for the tiedowns I drilled holes at an angle on either side of the handles and passed a wire through then pulled the string through.

Comments, comments... I know.

I know the turret has a noticeable seam dividing the top and bottom halves. Can this be filled with putty/epoxy or should it be left alone so one can disassemble the turret for maintenance issues, etc.?

Just striving for my own little version of a realistic Persh'.

If you can hide the seam, go for it! I have worked on the recoil unit and removed my barrel and mantle several times and never even considered taking the turret apart. As far as I'm concerned, once it is built it is built. :D

......just my opinion, though.
