VVSS
 

Assuming there was a VVSS conversion kit for the Tamiya Sherman that included bogies, wheels, idler, and track, what price would seem reasonable? This is an unscientific poll.

Um, not sure but how about $250.

You know these kind of things call for that kind of investment and since that is a major conversion item, it should at least be that much...

I am in at $250! as long as they are durable and are guaranteed for some period of time....
I know there is a fellow who has a conversion available right now..but some of the components of the VVSS crack with time....
It is a pain in his ACE!!! He has tried to sell the idea to MR TAMIYA but cannot get past the "henchmen"

So what do you have in mind in terms of materials and molds??[sm=49_49.gif]

It should cost no more then you can price out a set of HVSS from Tamiya.
~150.00 and be as durable.

Is this a secret code? I guess I'm not "in the know" about Sherman conversions, but I think you guys are making stuff up to sound like part of an elite group of people who know secrets about tanks. :D

HVSS is the suspension type that's currently on the Tamiya Sherman. The late war type.

HVSS means - Horizontal volute spring system. So I guess VVSS means - Verticle volute spring system.

$400 dollars might be more realistic, is this too much? Imagine CNC aluminum wheels, aluminum impregnated resin bogies and cast metal track. This is all hypothetical of course.

BYA has the Sherman metal tracks listed for $180. Tamiya charges $150 forthe HVSS parts, so $325 - $400 sounds more realistic. Now, maybe if you could a firm production date, and a whole lot of people to pony up a deposit ($75-$100).... then would that get the price down??????

OK.... pretend we are all from MISSOURI... "SHOW ME STATE"

Show us a prototype!!! If it is like you describe it would be very tempting!!! But realistically in order to sell a sufficient volume the pricing will unfortunately need to stay in the $250 range...

I only say this because at $400... THat is about 80% cost of a FULL FUNTION SHERMAN!!!

BYA has been working on a 1/16 FIREFLY that is suppose to debut sometime this year...*haven't seen it yet!!!!!! With the VVSS suspension and metal tracks and gearboxes... ALL that will be needed is to add the electronics from the innards of a SHERMAN for full function... and their price will be very tempting...

I understand that cost vs quantity... More quantity lower cost... etc... Therein lies the issue...

I know you would sell many at a reasonable $250... any higher and the frontal lobe will kick in and say...hmmmm better just to buy another everyday HVSS SHERMAN for almost the same cost as just getting a suspension system!!!!!

THAT IS ONLY my kind .02 cents worth....

I am all for you developing and offering the system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
