RE: King Tiger
Hallo again,
excuse the long time of stop in this thread - but I have to much to work - that's the reason why I do only have a very little range of time to move forward. :( So also the gear box from Marcel Reintjes (very good material and idea, fair price and good explanation how to built) waited a long time to be built - but last weekend I found the time and now the Tiger has got wounderful gear boxes with a fantastic timing [8D] (I will make a little film next time ...) Here are some pictures: Step by step ... http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/2456/img6275vt8.jpg http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/6392/img6278mw9.jpg nearly finished ... http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/2926/img6283dq6.jpg http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/603/img6287cf3.jpg best material ... http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/1782/img6294rd7.jpg and inside the Tiger ... http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/4078/img6298vq8.jpg Greetings |
RE: King Tiger
Hello Stern
Great to see you back, that is a beautiful set of gear boxes. Thanks for showing them to us. Gary |
RE: King Tiger
Man this is one heck of a detailed build. I envy your patients. Those TU's look bulletproof. Are they gear reduction? Can't wait to see the final.
|
RE: King Tiger
I'm stunned. This is the most impressive build I have ever seen. You are the detail master himselfe I'd say :D Can't wait to see it compleated.
Cheers Gabriel |
RE: King Tiger
Thanks a lot!
Yes, they are reducted - the speed seems to be near to the original and it is now perfectly in relation to the Maybach Sound! Greetings |
RE: King Tiger
Hey stern good to see the KT project going again;)
Looking great so far [sm=thumbup.gif] |
RE: King Tiger
Hello Stern,
This is a fantastic Tiger 2 you are building! Regarding the transmission unĂ*ts you are making, what are the sizes of the "Zahnräder", and what Modul size are they? Are those the ones that are available from Conrad.de ? And what will be the overall rpm reduction be, 100:1 or ?? Best Regards, Anders |
RE: King Tiger
Not much to say but keep up the fantastic work!!!!:D
|
RE: King Tiger
Thanks a lot !
Anders, yes that is the material that you can get from Conrad. I will take a look at the weekend which size and which reduction they do have. Hope that I will also find the time to make a little video, that you can listen the to the Maybach Sound comparing the speed. Greetings and a nice Friday! |
RE: King Tiger
Anders, the size of the Zahnräder (gearwheels) is M0,5 (15Z. ; 40Z. and B2.3) - (Part Number: 231827 and 231851 and 240354).

RE: King Tiger
Thanks a lot,
Stern for the info. By the way, are these flanged ballraces also from Conrad, and are the sizes 9X5mm? Best Regards, Anders |
RE: King Tiger
That gearbox is beautiful! I can't believe I missed it.

RE: King Tiger
Hi Stern
do you have a link to where I can find those gearboxes. I have been torn between the Impact and the Wecohe TUs and also considered the Schumo Reductions... do you have any thoughts on those? Can you say why you chose these ones? thanks Noel |
RE: King Tiger
Thanks!
Anders, I do not know-excuse. I will measure it and let you know. Noel, I took a look on the Wecohe, Schumo and Reintjes system. All versions are working good. Personally I want to have high quality gears that will work also well if the Tiger gets more heavy step by step. I think the quality of the wecohe and the Reintjes version is equal for that preference. The Reintjes version is a full own gear system - the wecohe system is based on the original Tamiya gears - so you have to modify the Tamiya gears. As a result you get not 2 working systems (you can sell or use to modify ...). And the price is just much to high. The Reintjes gears have a fair price, especially if you sell the original Tamiya System. No, I do not have a link - I wrote a pm in [link=http://www.battletanksnederland.com/phpBB3/index.php]this forum[/link] to him. Greetings |
RE: King Tiger

I just love those gearboxes. I regret that I didn't buy those instead of the loud Impacts. Here is the page where you can order www.mijnwebwinkel.nl/winkel/mrdesigngearboxes/
