Wireing Help Needed.

Almost finished my HL Tiger, and most wireing is complete. I need help on some of the wires though. Anyone got pics of the complete wireing inside the turret and the head lights? I've searched the forum, but there's so much stuff here.
I need to know where the headlight wires go. Also, in the turret, the little motor unit that drives the cam to raise and lower the gun, has 3 wires. 2 red ones, and a yellow one. I've connected the obvious red and yellow wires, but where does the 2nd red wire go?

Ta!

I have the same questions. Does anyone have wiring layout/schematic for HL board?

I wrote it on an envelope I had laying around, let me see if I can find it and scan it for you. As for the board schematic, been trying to since I got into the hobby, no dice.

Alrighty, the diagrams are the same except for the placement of the resistor for the gun LED. Some tanks have it attached to the switch, some the LED. The wires at the bottom are typically Black, White and Red in that order. The black wire goes straight to the negative terminal on the barrel elevation motor, the red to the negative terminal on the gun motor (motor spins backwards) and the white to the positive terminal on the elevation motor.

Can you label the wires in the middle picture?

the wires that go through the black wire sheath all go to the multi plug
that powers the turret headlights etc as can be seen in the first pic... there are no power
or motor wires soldered to the board as yet ... the 3 wires on the right hand side
are from the volume control...

RE: Wireing Help Needed.

Thanks for the pictures and help everyone. Except for a few bits and pieces still to be fitted, my HL Tiger is now up and running. I'm only having a problem with the gun elevation not working. This is due to not understanding where the second red wire from the elevation motor goes. I'm not bothered at the moment, as The top will have to come off again as soon as the Clark electronics are available in about April.
Everything else works just fine, and with the metal suspension arms/wheels/tracks, she is running better than before. As soon as I get the chance to fit all the remaining externals, I'll post a few pictures.
Once again, thanks very much for the advice.

Those are great pics but I could use some pics of the wires on the two boards, mainly the power connections. If anyones got them. Thanks

Has anyone figured out where the output signal for the gun firing button on the transmitter resides on the HL board?????. I was hoping to tap into it and use it for somehting else.

Those are great pics but I could use some pics of the wires on the two boards, mainly the power connections. I'm trying to upgrade my non-S&S tiger.

My website has a walkthrough for the S&S upgrade Visit "how to articles" here [link]http://www.dougstigerparts.com/how_to_articles.htm[/link]

Hope this helps.

What's the trick for soldering wires onto the board? What's temperature do you set your soldering iron at and what's the best brand of solder to use?

Honstly I used a old huge iron and and prayed alot :D If you dont have a small iron you could cover the area around the point and heat the solder nearby ( centimeters away) and use a toothpick to transfer it to the wires before it cools completely. That's how I fought through it!

I use a small 25W plug in iron and some special electronics solder. I got it all at my local hardware store. Works great!
