RE: removeing the sideskirts on the pershing

Some people call those saws "rasor saws" a comercial name you can look for is a ZONA SAW. They come in different blade thicknesses and tooth count from fine to coarse. Most good hobbyshops carry these saws. Just ask for a Rasor Saw they'll know what you want

The M26 was my first detailing project. I used a Harbor Freight $7 rotary tool to cut the fenders off. The non-adjustable speed melted the plastic and eventually destroyed the rotary tool itself! The side fender mounting holes were drilled with this too. Afterwards I learned that a pin vise would have been much better to use. I also installed the metal tie downs pretty much in the same places as the real tank, each side is NOT the same. The fender supports are not like those used on the tanks at the time. They were beyond my modeling skills at the time. They mimmick the Littlefield M26A1's using turnbuckles instead.

Enjoy the build!
They do look a little alike but your missing the adjusting nuts:D
This is the site I used to get my info from http://svsm.org/gallery/M26 and this is the pic I used to make mine from.

I have made all mine with soldering wire...soft and easy to work, flatten out sections with flat pliers and they look OK. Super glue holds tight. Rear supports always get damaged, so I always have one rear one busted with the fender bent up. Couple vews with crew showing off.

RE: removeing the sideskirts on the pershing

if your not using the airsoft then why not have a go at a re-coil using the old airsoft mech

RE: removeing the sideskirts on the pershing

If you're a stickler for details you might want to cut back some more on the inside of the fenders on the glacis plate. Yours are too far forward.

Add 33mm for a correct barrel length. Your inner barrel would then be 207mm.

Hi Guys,

I used a small pipe cutter to cut mime, I use a similar diameter marker pen barrel and also installed a 1.5 inch extension.
