HL Tiger electrics
Hi,
I have a small problem in that my Tiger main board does not seem to communicate with the turret (mainly!) The red(?) LEDs come on and work OK, changing from blinking to constant when I press the starter. But none of the turret functions work. If I apply a voltage direct to each motor - turn and elevation -each works OK. Neither work when I connect to the loom. This is the second main board I've tried with the same result, so I do not suspect the board. Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Here is the circuit you can make sure that you are wired correctly or that you are getting good contact from here!

You trying to confuse the man Blitz? That's a conversion wiring diagram! :D
The ground wires control the functions in HL tanks, many people think it's the red and wire their tanks up wrong. |
RE: HL Tiger electrics
True it shows how it connects to the T-34 I guess I should have pointed that out, but at least he could see what & where the source is;)

RE: HL Tiger electrics
Make sure you're plugging it in all the way, use a multimeter to check the pins on the loom coming from the board, especially the red and black on the edge (turret rotation) -- under power it should give 6.8-7.2v
Check your wires arent cut/crimped... I dunno what else to say |
RE: HL Tiger electrics
Hi Guys, and thanks for your advice. I too have run out of ideas, which is why I posted the plea for help!
It's going to be something simple - many of these things are - and I guess I will have to go back to basics and check the wiring right through from start to finish and not assume anything is right! The fact that none of you, with your combined experience, have knowledge of any similar board problem is encouraging. My own "gut" feeling is the connector, but I may well be wrong! Aren't we all at some time? |
RE: HL Tiger electrics
You probably got the 3 wires going from the turret to the junction block crossed and that's why nothing up there is working.

It's something to consider, Swathdiver. I'll check it out in relation to the circuits that have been posted on this forum. As I'm sure you appreciate, I'm grasping at straws on this one!

Taken from my thread [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6571532/anchors_6573955/mpage_1/anchor/tm.htm#6573955]here.[/link] Hope it helps |
RE: HL Tiger electrics
Thanks Wackywheelz. Also had a look at your other thread out of interest. Few of the colours coincide, but it's where they go that counts.

RE: HL Tiger electrics
Yep, wire colours/colors may vary, but placement is always the same (on the plug). I was gonna put that on the image, I host the image locally (in my own webspace) so it can be easily edited to clarify or correct something. Good luck with getting it back to life, shouldnt take much!

Hi YHR,
I hadn't even considered the transmitter until now but, now I come to think back to when the problem all started, the TX could well be the problem. Thank you for the idea. I have a spare TX, so will have a go at that. |
RE: HL Tiger electrics
Hi YHR,
Brilliant! It all works OK. Thanks for that. When I looked at the Tx, neither of the contacts was making contact with the board. A few tweaks, and it all works fine. Lessons to be learned here, guys! |
RE: HL Tiger electrics
LOL, does happen. Trial and error, sort through what is working to eventually find what isnt [8D]
Glad its all fixed. |
RE: HL Tiger electrics
That is why this forum is so great! Nice work YHR two heads are better then one and a couple hundred is a library!:D
