Don't know if they actually have any or whether this is outdated, but here's a link at least (perhaps you might buy the last one and help me avoid it);)

M5stuartrctankbattalion.com Get into this web and someone always has tanks or parts.
Also contact; Jack at [email protected]. He makes correct tracks for the Stuart and most likely knows of some.

In order to make room for the next 1/6 project I may be selling one (or two or three) of mine.

Well that is a nice looking tank,I think its to bad they quit making them. They are actualy made very well and compaired to what some of the 1/16 scale tanks cost, they can still be bought at bargin prices. They are big and a lot of people don't realy have the room for them.Your gun barrel looks like it is an up-grade version, that is one thing I will do to mine in time.I just bought one that is suppose to be new in the original box and if it gets to me undammaged in shipping I will be very happy. Yeah, if I recall, I did replace the main gun barrel as well as the two machine gun barrels with aftermarket resin barrels. Added a number of brass tie downs, a jerry can rack and lots of stowed goodies on the tank..throw in the Telly Savalis look-a-like commander and "Rose" is off and rolling.

I bought it more as an interesting large modeling project then to really run it much. I think it might have 2 hours total running time on it. It motors along pretty good, nice tanks for the money.

If you get one, by all means, replace that mickey mouse double pin track with the correct one..I listed Jack above and can't praise them enough. It changes the total appearance of the Stuart by having the correct track. I can send a photo of my SCR-508 radio set if anyone wants to cut to size and mount in the turret rear.

Hello Pattoncommander,
Just buying and learning a little about these bigger tanks, can you give a little detail about the advantage of changing the tracks. What is the difference between the stock and aftermarket tracks.??

Could anyone tell us when these tanks were produced, from what year to what year.??

Like I said above I just got my first one (used) and a (new one)on the way. These tanks are kind of in a class by themselves, and when these were first produced going by the price and where they were sold it makes you wonder if these were directed at just kids as a toy. They are big and fairly heavy and knowing what I do about tanks, without using a certain amount of care and doing a little maintainance can't immagine one of these lasting very long in the hands of most kids.Kind of makes me wonder how many of these are setting on a shelf somewhere because of a blown board or a burnt up drive motor. The "auction site" has had a fair amount of these for sale that I have noticed in the last few weeks. To me after looking mine over inside and out they are over-all a well made tank compaired to the other tanks in their price range.I have seen a few posts on the -net-where guys have posted some improvements they have done to the running gear (putting bushings in the rollers, lubing everything that moves because it's plastic rubbing on plastic).I have noticed on the one I got that the carrier rollers are starting to show some slop, most likely because they had never had any lube applied. The tracks and undercarrige on these tanks is rather impressive to me,seem to be fairly heavy duty.

I did not care for this tank very much. [:o] It does look neat and the size is impressive, but it has non-proportional speed "go" or "stop", non-proportional sound, the barrel is in a fixed position and it only shoots a missle-thingy.

I have seen some very nicely upgraded versions of this tank with nice transmitters and powerfull airsoft guns etc., but the cost and effort would be more that I would want to put into it. Plus, the thing is too big to display on a shelf. Who wants a tank that has to be stored in a closet?!! :D

Where'd you find those tracks? Or are they the super expensive metal ones that cost about 3X more than the tank?

Thought I would add one more thing, the steering is backwards (push the right stick it goes left.push the left stick and it goes right).
Was looking at Willy's Custom RC Models web-site and he addresses this issue, shows a diagrame how to correct this.

You better get a little bigger shelf for one of these big guy's---:D BIGMIG ;););)

P.S. The size alone will keep a lot of guys from buying them, but they are not that big.!! When I picked mine up I brought it home in the back seat of my Camero, and these are not that heavy and will fit very easy in the trunk of most cars. You don't need a ramp or a big vehicle to haul them. :D

RE: 1/6 scale stuart

Yeah, they're pretty fun at first to run around the back yard, but in stock trim they only have one speed so there's no throttle. I have 2 of them, one will have a round turret (M3A1) and the other will be a shelf queen. I need to relocate the battery more towards the center to balance it some and add another radio/speed controller (with a whole host of other improvements), but that's another project.

Where is the auction site?

RE: 1/6 scale stuart

Well I over-all don't like to plug them--EBAY is the auction site--When I can't find what I want at any other place, then I may go there. But outside the U.S.A. it seems to be the place a lot of people get their best buys. These Tanks are also being sold at some other places if you want to pay their price.Had I known some of the members here on the forum may have had one for sale I would have most likely made a deal with one of them. When you buy on the -bay- you are rolling the dice, you are taking someones word that you will get what you are buying and it will be in the condition that they addvertise it. Yeah, I bought both of mine at WalMart (while they still had them) for $149.00 a piece back in '04.

They are the first run, faded olive drab paint. Glad I got 'em then, they followed up with a jungle fever camo that looked worse than the pink on the KT and then later the horrible looking white/rust wash paint scheme.
