RE: KING TIGER The Ultimate Matorro Modified
ORIGINAL: Panther F I'll tell you what, it does have a sound all it's own. How much does something like that cost? Does it run with the stock HL electronics and if so what else is needed? Panther F The new EL MOD works very well with your stock Heng long electonics and you can set it up that way! This will allow you to use your Heng long radio and you would not need to buy a new Hobby radio,, but you will need the Heng long adapter which is an extra $35.00. So again you can use EL MOD on its own and get rid of all your Heng long Matorro, WSN electronics or you can use El MOd with your Heng long, Matorro or WSN Electronics and also you do not have to change the voltage if you use your stock setup with your WSN T-34 it will take the 9-6 volt battery pack and up to 12 volts! Below is Parts cost only to how this tank was done! Matorro KT purchased with the MEtal Upgrade kit (RCTankWars) = $ 215.00 EL MOD = $ 275.00 without Full option $ 365.00 with Full option Upgrade metal gearbox HL Pershing = $ 25.00 $ High End Gear reduction $ 70.00 - $ 125.00 Rear Tenstioner/ idler adjuster and support cross bar = $ 65.00 Tamiya Recoil, with Tamiya metal barrel & muzzle brake = $ 145.00 Graupner Speed 400 Motors = $ 20.00 Charge port and special charging cable = $ 10.00 Heng long Turret rotation motor = $ 8.00 Phils Supper flash dual LED blast (RCTankWars) = $ 10.00 Spectrum DX5e 2.4 GHz radio ( RCTankWars) = $ 75.00 Spectrum Receiver BR6000 ( RCTankWars) = $ 55.00 Metal Machine gun = $ 15.00 X-Fan the low power consuming cooling fan (RCTankWars) = $ 5.00 Heng long Smoker unit modified with a fan. (RCTankWars) = $ 30.00 * Modification, labor and customer request cost varies and is subject to the project requested! * Thanks, Phil ( AKA the Blitz ) Here is the test Video on it,, just in case it go lost in the other posts! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR_xShCUEMg |

:D
That tank is so realistic & scale sounding. I just watched the video & was very impressed.[8D] |
RE: KING TIGER The Ultimate Matorro Modified
Looks great! Did the real transmission sound that rough?
How did you do the tension hold for the front of the tank? |
RE: KING TIGER The Ultimate Matorro Modified
The matorro and the Tamiya KT the front just slides in to the sprocket wheel guides and the rear is the only part holding it down

ORIGINAL: TankMatt Beyond awesome! Very temping .... Question: How is the suspension reinforced? First of all Great Job Mailfist, the detailing is amazing! TankMatt, the hull is reinforced by the rear tensioner, and the crossbar support behind the gearbox! The road wheels are not load bering! They roll on the metal tracks that are a little over 2 inches wide and 16 inches long of track 32 inches in total! All the weight of the tank is distributed very evenly over this run! I have ran my King Tiger for about a year now,, from in the dirt at the local park, to the deserts battle ground of Pheonix. The road wheels do not take any of the impact, and should not unless you jump your tank onto a small bolder or something! And even then, they are being shielded by a 2 inch wide metal plate! Beautiful exterior mailfist!!
Blitz, the inside and mechanicals/electronics are equally impressive! I’m intrigued with your magnetic hull hold down method, in the video you describe sliding/locking the front in, do you have and detail of that? |
RE: KING TIGER The Ultimate Matorro Modified
Phil, MailedFist, I'm impressed! That is one terrific looking and sounding tank. I can hardly wait until it gets here, Thank you very much for the hard work and the care you took in making this KT as realistic looking and sounding as possible. Christopher

[8D] Chris, I'm very happy you are satisfied w/ the scheme. It in fact is a wonderfully built tank by Blitz and I was equally excited to spray it & detail it. It is my pleasure to work on this Ultimate King and Phil should provide the neccesary tracking information to ensure you recieve it in a timely manner.
Be patient because this tank is something worth waiting for! [8D] -Cheers:D ps-thank you all for your nice comments! :D |

ORIGINAL: Flyn Chris Beautiful exterior mailfist!! Blitz, the inside and mechanicals/electronics are equally impressive! I’m intrigued with your magnetic hull hold down method, in the video you describe sliding/locking the front in, do you have and detail of that? Hey Chris, Sorry it took so long to get back to you! I used a high power magnet the width OD is .25 of an inch or 6.34 mm the height is .1280 of an inch or 3.25 mm! I put one magnet in the molding hole where the stand off fits that normally receives the screw! I glued one magnet down into that hole first, then put masking tape over that. Then I cut the standoff at heigh of the magnet, 3.25 mm and used plastic welder glue and applied it to the cut stand off. Then I put the magnet that is going to attach to the top stand off, and place it on the bottom hull magnet that has already been glued down and covered with the masking tape! The tape keeps the excess glue from glueing the two magnets together, and having the top go on last with the glue on the standoff it insures that it will set in place as tight as possible! Then you tape the two hulls together as tight as possible and let it dry! The Matorro King Tiger front end is already a slide in fit so nothing is needed to support the front end, it is seated tight! RE: KING TIGER The Ultimate Matorro Modified
Well, I received the KT from UPS today, and believe it or not, it was before the day was over, so I got to play! MailedFist, the paint job and extras you put on are fantastic, thank you! It doesn't look 'factory new', but it also doesn't look like it belongs in a junk yard, she just looks used but well maintained. I stuck in a new 5000 nimh and charged her up with the supplied charging cable and charge port, worked like a charm. Fired it up in the kitchen, and left a smokey trail out thru the living room and out the front door to the driveway. Runs like a charm, that 'physics drive' of the El-Mod system is absolutely trick. Very slow starts, that build up to speed, it runs fabulous, and sounds much better than the video. I've had her out for about 90 minutes so far, thru grass, and out on a dirt trail we have out here and there are no complaints from me or the KT, she performed flawlessly. Now we'll have to come up with something equivilant for the allied side of things!! Thanks for a terrific job, all the way around!! Christopher.
