More pictures and more to come, and a little video later....Look at the front sprocket height, it is max, I could not have went one mm higher!

Looks great.
How about some pictures of your magnets, where you placed them, etc? And some of the charging port? I noticed that the battery box is still there. Will you be cutting it out and waterproofing the lower hull?

Thanks guys,

No water proofing on this tank,, I think if your going to put EL Mod in it you might not want to risk that,,, but now the challenge is on for a future build! Here are some pictures of some of the areas you requested including the magnets I have glued them onto the screw stand offs and the screw hole area they are high power maganets! I removed the bubble on the bottom hull also!

Phil,
The magnets are a great idea. I like them. Have you test driven it over some rough terrain to see if the upper hull shifts at all, ie, do the magnets slide across themselves when bumped or bounced? Do the magnets interfere at all with your speaker or your circuit boards? Looks like you've spaced them away pretty well, but I thought I'd ask. On that note, were these a Home Depot buy or did you get them special? Looks like a good idea for my Bulldog that I'm working on.
Speaking of which I've wanted to to use stereo plugs, or your guitar plug idea, to do a charging jack. Do you have a wiring diagram or photos of the wiring for that? Looks like I can get the plugs at RadioShack, but I'm not sure how to wire them up.
Thanks,
Philip

I was interested in that ELMOD system for my Tamiya King Tiger but read a lot of comments about problems with the new Blaster III board and poor battery life. Someone stated that a 4000maH battery pack would only give you about 20 minutes run time, which I find to be unacceptable for my proposed use (IR Battles). Another was that they wished the Blaster II was still available as it had less problems. Poor customer support from the producer ofELMOD inGermany was another complaint.Poor instructions for installation (unless youcan read German well). Speed 400 motors damaging the EL MOD control board. Having to ship malfunctioning boards back and forth to Germany and still having issues afterwards with getting the units working correctly, etc.
It didn't sound promising at all.. Anycomments from you about all this, Blitzkrieg65?

Philip,
Here is where I have bought magnets from, they are called rare earth magnets and they come in various shapes and sizes. Tons of uses for this hobby and others, eg. I have used these for a canopy on my scratchbuilt cobra helicopter. here's the link bud <span style="visibility: visible;" id="main"><span style="visibility: visible;" id="search"><cite>http://www.kjmagnetics.com/

Nice KT build. Did you get that magnet idea from the SCAT battle group. One of there members did a HL Pz III conversion in 2007 and he used the same type of magnets ?
Very nice job on the KT

Philip,
Here is where I have bought magnets from, they are called rare earth magnets and they come in various shapes and sizes. Tons of uses for this hobby and others, eg. I have used these for a canopy on my scratchbuilt cobra helicopter. here's the link bud <span id="main" style="visibility: visible;"><span id="search" style="visibility: visible;"><cite>http://www.kjmagnetics.com/

Rebellion13: Thank you for the magnet tip, ordered sets for my Tamiya Pz4 and Tamiya Pershing.
Phil,
Of interest to some (at least me): How much to you have in this nicely upgraded El Mod KT compared to a Tamiya KT including it's required aftermarket upgrades to get the Tamiya kit to run properly? What is the learning curve for mastering El Mod maintenance and trouble shooting? John

Hi Phil,
Thank you for the offline answer, do not have a clue as to what the content meant.
But, I will commission a RTR VVS full house El Mod – Mato Sherman with a 2.4 radio (like the KT).
Let me know when they ship a Sherman tank to you?
So, keep me signed up on that Sherman List, I still have your quote!
That FM Unit is still yours by the way.
John

Here is a test video where I tried to show how well the magnets work and of course showcase the sound & drive! I have done some adjustments with the configurator so I wanted to see the results, I have been tweaking on the tank all week Christopher and it is ready to paint now,! I will make another video of it after its painted running with my KT I think that will be cool! Then it’s off to you!
PS I just loaded the video so it may take a while to play right!

Pcomm1 ( John ) I sure will update you and everyone else who I have on the list,, I just talked with my contact yesteday on the Sherman,, and he assured me again,, that he will contact me as soon as he gets pricing and of course availability!
Thanks,
The Blitz

I'll tell you what, it does have a sound all it's own. How much does something like that cost?
Does it run with the stock HL electronics and if so what else is needed?
