I did one a year ago. Used a HL M-26 and T-81 tracks and a must. Not a difficuilt conversion and plenty of resources for photos.

Sweet conversion Patton! Can't wait to get my current tanks finished. I've vowed to not get another tank until I'm done with the 3 I have. Pershings next on my list and I may have to get two cause the super Pershing is awesome......and the prototype Pershing fitted with T99 rocket launchers is just sick!

Here's the pics to save you searching. The conversion isn't too difficult and makes the tank look awesome.

Darrin in our club modeled the Pershing with the Rocket Launchers. Looked cool, but he did not like how they added to the width of the turret - too limiting and easy to damage in combat. Still they look cool and are removable.

Hey Guys

Thanks for the info on the Super Pershing. That's what I want to do with me tank. I do like the Pershing tank, it's big and mean.

Again Thanks

John

That's awesome work. When I do get the Pershings, those rocket launchers are a must. In my mind, anything that can make the tank bigger is better, lol.

That RL was only tested on two Pershings in 1946 and never issued for use. Nice looking tank, but jerry cans are NEVER laid flat....they all leak and those cans would be draining oil into the engine compartment. Sandbags on the fender? Pershings did not use them, and why on the fenders....to protect the tools?

Hi all
I've just received a message slagging off my work, and here it is:

Did anyone look at any Super Pershing photos before doing this? Wrong tracks.....MUST have T-81s. Rear track guards are wrong, missing stowage racks and the loader's hatch is way too far forward.
I'm sorry "patton commander" if my model doesn't meet your exacting standards, but then again it's a plastic tank.
If the tracks aren't right or the details aren't quite right, it's not the end of the world is it?
I like the way it looks as it is and I am happy with the results I achieve. None of the models I build are 100% acurate but I don't get too many complaints on how they look.
I did not look at the photo's of your build and feel the need to point out that there seems to be an ariel coming out of the fuel cap!
Seriously pissed

As far as jerry cans go you are most likely correct, but don't tell that to the guy that stashed one in the storage locker. The "Sandbags" are a rolled up vehicle tarp.

Both of the images are from The Pershing/Patton in action from Squadron Publications. One of the few sources I've found for Pershings in WWII.

The tubes help lift the gun up and down the gun is bigger and longer and needed the aid to help on elevation .

One I first got my Tamiya Pershing I was thinking of doing this so here is some more links .

You Super Pershing looks great. I've been wanting a Super Pershing for a while now, and I think yours is one of the nicest one I've seen. Is it 100% accurate? Of course not. But is it a very well-built model? Heck yes!

BTW, I could provide pictures of M48 Patton tankers stowing their gas cans in ways that Pattoncommander wouldn't have liked. But the point is, just because you did it in a certain way, doesn't mean it was the only way it was ever done. We're not modeling the M46 you rode in combat.

Where could I get a spare main gun barrel? Mato doesn't have any..

RE: Super Pershing

Hi
you could try asking on here to see if anyone has an old broken barrel in their spares box.
Also I've seen the spring tubes made from the ends of transmitter ariels which looked very good.

Anyone got the dimensions of the barrel? I could run some metal ones off in return for some copies of whatever parts you make for the rest of the conversion?
