RE: Creeping Death Updates
:Dwhat slowed the show up was the metal tube change. from what i gather the gas holding systems were assembled first before the turrets. so when they made the decesion to change to the metal part they had to go back and redo every gas cell. the cell modules had to be torn down and started from scratch. then the parts that they needed to complete every cell was backordered through their supplier. i just got my email too:D

Good thing they don't make pizza's. Can you imagine a pizza being 13 days late? Would our response be, Dominoes must be busy.:D:D:D
I look forward to your review. Will it be a free and open review as in taking the turret apart and posting pictures/etc. Are they selling these and telling you not to post pic's/etc? This is their second gun release as you know. The first one was also heralded as the ultimate airsoft option with lofty claims but no pictures of the inside of the turrets were ever posted by any of the people that bought one and actually had it delivered. A lot of people asked to see what it looked like but for some reason the owners never did post one. Perry |

RE: Creeping Death Updates
Gentlemen... why all of the negative remarks about a couple week delay? This is a small company making a pretty darn neat upgrade for these tanks and starting from scratch in the development of the gun system. Personally, I'd rather wait another six months and get a good product than something slapped together that doesn't last. If during the install they find a way of improving their product of the initial models, and it delays things a bit is it really gonna kill us to wait just a little bit longer? I compliment them for taking the time and initiative to continually improve their product. Yeah, I know it's been a year since they announced it ~ but so what? Just like the Shermans... they'll get here when they get here
Reminds me of buying the first year production cars and how everyone always says to wait a year or two so they work the bugs out [which always show up]... I'd rather the manufactor work the bugs out before shipping the product out than having to ship it back to them because something failed. Why can't we give these guys the same break that we give Phil @ RCTankWars. Phil is a small businessman himself and everyone around here, myself included, is more than willing to have him take his time on a purchase/upgrade when he needs it because they know that when it is finished it will be done right. I even sent a note with mine telling them to take their time and do what they please with the KT turret as it was their first. They advertised BIG by saying that they will be available for ALL MODELS... there are a lot of them out there, so I think we need to cut them some slack if they have to change or develope a mounting system for your particular model. I'm thrilled to have my King Tiger turret being upgraded [which my the way I was just informed should ship Monday or Tuesday :D ] when the alternative could have been them just releasing an upgraded Tiger tank complete ~ when I really don't need another Tiger. As these things start shipping, and more are sent in, I'm sure that they will receive a turret from a model that they didn't know about, don't have at hand to see if the install was feasible, or anticipate someone wanting to upgrade, but give them a chance and I'm sure they'll find a way to get it done. Sorry if I sound like the Creeping Death CEO or something, but as an airsoft tanker I've gotta tip my hat to these guys. I know I've said it before, but I would not have purchased tank #2, let alone #3 and #4 if it weren't for CD. There are no clubs around me so IR doesn't make much sense and the stock airsoft guns aren't really much worth having, and a tank is supposed to shoot something. Perry made a great gun, but I cherish my appendages and fear that I might loose a few trying to recreate his Super Gun, so yes, I am a CD fan. They took airsoft tanking to a higher level with their initial production ugraded gun with recoil and the other bells and whistles, and this gun system sounds like it will be groundbreaking. For groundbreaking, I can wait just a little bit longer if that is what they need! |

I never needed to open mine up and didn't for fear of messing it up, but I know there was at least one post showing the interior of the initial CD. If I saved it, or find it, I'll post a link. I did post some pictures of the light they use to light up glow BBs when someone asked what kind of light they use. I believe that we concluded that it was a small UV bulb because of the purplish-blue glow. ;) Here's the link. Doesn't open up the gun or anything if that is what you were looking for, but does show the recoil mechanism and wiring http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_84...tm.htm#8487586 |
RE: Creeping Death Updates
Ern,
Thank you for posting that link but I was aware of it. Actually you can see my posts in that thread as well. As I stated in my above post, there were no 'inside the turret' photos. Maybe it's the engineer in me but it's not enough to just buy something and use it. I have to take everything apart and see how it works. When someone claims they have something revolutionary, I have to see why it is. As one of 'shooting tanks' strongest advocates on this forum (I take heat for it quite often) I am definitely rooting for CD to be successful with this. I was really rooting for their first gun as well. If Shen's review is good I will definitely buy one or more. As far as the comments on the delay I think that CD brings that on themselves. When they post here claiming how revolutionary their new system is it get's everybody all riled up and anxious for it. When they post here with the sole purpose of telling us there is a new product and when sales start (board violation?) they should really make sure they can back it up. If they would have just kept quiet until they had stock to sell and thing ironed out there would be no such focus on delays, just happy customers. Remember, to question something does not make you against it. Perry |

My first Creeping Death turret, fried limit switch due to burning with soldering gun, second turret completely fried, third turret required a replacement gun from VS which I was told would have the 140fps if I simply added thespecialC/D SEAL made fromspecialpolymersmixed just for C/D. I agreed to accept the promise of the first new gun system in exchange for not seeking a refund through paypal.
I know of no thread ever posted where a vendor was allowed to make so many claims and still avoid any negative feedback, or a vendor that simply remains silent after allowing others to make baseless claims of secrete videos and 16 working guns. So I have watched and sat back while this Shelby was allowed to never answer any of the post after he provided a gun for testing to Steve, we all have seen the results of a 16 monthdevilment, legal issues over patent rights, and special parts designed in Japan for the American made gun system. I have now had my say, the last to speak on this issue, I decided this wasappropriate after seeing another post asking about Bill@RCCOMMAND and has anyone heard from him? Just can't understand how Bill can not post for a month and he isexpectedto contact the forum, yet Shelby has never through these three threads been asked about his product or his lack of posting once Stevereceivedthe test unit. So why does Shelby not have to post a reply after all he has claimed? Because fairness only applies to native born vendors? Shelby is benevolent? Everyone decided to just drop this issue? Enough said. I have tried to warn, people and should have chose a better method, but the man now has produced junk without explanation. Saxondog <br type="_moz" /> |
RE: Creeping Death Updates
I have my two, but not installed yet.
I had a problem with the Tiger turret because I was trying to use an Asiatam lower hull with full metal upgrades and the cylinders won't fit in the lower because of the suspension the hull has. The suspension parts raise the floor height and the canisters are to high for it so the top won't fit on without binding the air hoses. I'm going to swap out my Version 1 Creeping death turret from my other Tiger because it uses use a stock HL lower and put the new turret on the old stock HL lower. The King Tiger shouldn't be to much trouble, but I have to relocate the speaker and smoker a bit from their current locations. It's a Blitz conversion to HL electronics with 3:1 gears. I also told Creeping Death to omit the laser because mounting it in the mantlet where the MG goes would not allow the laser to move up and down with the barrel. With the King Tiger the barrel moves independently from the mantlet and installing it in the mantlet would only allow side to side movement. I have a much smaller laser [ like 2mm diameter ] that I got on eBay that should fit under the barrel to use for aiming the gun. Not historically accurate, but more practical for what I want. This is my last day shift and I have a lot more spare time while working nights ~ no wife around ~ so I'll put up some pics as I progress. Sorry, but don't have the time to devote to the project that Shen did get things up and running. It's killing me seeing these things laying around and not being able to get to them! |

I answered you in the email where you went off on this... I asked a simple question asking if Bill was still in business because I knew he was having problems and I had not seen any comments about him or his company for awhile... good or bad, and I wanted to place an order with him. I simply asked if he was still around and in business, not trying to bash him. I have supported Bill since he joined the forum and expanded his inventory to include tank items, have placed a few orders with him, and have defended him throughout all of the tough times he has been going through. Do not try to twist a simple question about placing an order with a vendor to attempt to fit your needs in bashing Creeping Death. If you are that pissed at them contact an attorney and do something about it, but leave me out of it. I had a good experience with their first turret and posted my experiences on this forum, and will let everyone know how these new ones are when they are installed. Enough is enough [:@] |
RE: Creeping Death Updates
Hey Blake,
I wouldn't read too great of a conspiracy into the CD thing and how it has fallen by the wayside. They hyped them, people got really excited, they delivered them, they were terrible pieces of junk, people quit caring about them. Pretty much a full circle. I think you don't hear much pressing of CD because people have written them off completely. Bill gets attention because he has a web store that sells real products people want. CD doesn't post here often and has nothing most people want to buy so you don't hear much about them. RE: Creeping Death Updates
Hi Ern get the guns installed would like to see how yours go ... maybe a video also... Mine is still working CD e-mailed me as of why the rear of the guns nipple broke off they said in my photos they noticed the rear hose was over the rear elevation gear box when it was supposed to be routed under it...But who knows after i fixed it it's still above the elevation gear box and has not broken off. Also take a look at your Fill valve make sure the clamp is tight as mine sprung a leak.... I took mine out and looked at it and did not like it because it had course threads that went pretty far down it so i replaced mine with one of my KWC airsoft guns magazine fill valve It's way better it has a smooth shank and bairly any fine threads on the end... Makes for a much better reliable seal.
Good luck hope all goes well. Now get to work on em !:) |
RE: Creeping Death Updates
A lot of people had personal experiences with Bill at RCcommand and could comment on personal experiences. Creeping death on the other hand has limited exposure to most of us, as few have actually bought anything from them.
CD's lack of response on this forum isn't winning them any fans, nor is the quality of their work. There is no forum conspiricy or anything. A lot of people just don't have a dog in this hunt, and have seen enough not to bother with it. So yes I guess we have just decided to drop the issue, as most of us have seen enough, and there is nothing worth carrying on about. In Bill's case there were definately two sides to the story, and that caused much discussion. In the case of CD, I think there is very little to discuss, as I think most of us are of the same opinion as you, and see no reason to beat a dead horse. How is any manufacturer going to be able to defend what they sent Shenlonco. I understand you having an issue with CD, but you seem to have an issue with this forum and it's membership as well . Your last post was aimed directly at the forum membership because we are not beating a dead horse, and that is something we rarely get raked over the coals for:D When all of are the same opinion there is little to discuss. |

There should be a symbol of a flower either on your camera, or in the settings of your camera. Use it. It lets you take close up, detailed photos. Only one out of the five you posted can I tell what it's of with any detail. It's not just you, it happens a fair bit on this forum. Edit: I don't mean to be or sound harsh, I really do want to see what people are posting (as in this thread) and it just appears many people don't understand how to take detailed close up photos with digital cameras. It's not like I think people are making bad pictures intentionally and just don't care about what everyone else sees. Knowing how to do so GREATLY increases the functionality of your camera. |
