Creeping Death Updates

Has anybody got the new system yet? I received an update today from CD stating that they are installing/testing the King Tiger turret I sent them [I ordered two!] and they are reaching 440fps with their chronograph! I gotta get the lower finished now and get the idler adjusters installed. BLITZ! You still out there? I don't want to screw this up!

Sweet mother! 440 fps. I wonder if that come with the six pack (just a little Mopar humour :)

RE: Creeping Death Updates

From Creeping Death...

"hey Ern just an update.we started on the kingtiger first. the gun is able to blow a clean hole in the bottom of a coke can. the crono that we are using is having some tech issues but our last reading put it at 440 fps. we'll be working on the mounting today.

the reason we can get more power out of the kingtiger is because it has more space. so the more space we can use a larger volume of gas. it decreases the amount of times you can fire without reloading, but this thing is shaping up to be a living breathing king of the battlefield. the paintball testing is leaving incredible burst splatters on whatever it hits."

RE: Creeping Death Updates

i checked on tuesday and they are extremely busy. they changed a part on the gas holding cells from a hose to a steel tube and were scrambling to get the right fittings. cant wait to see it. the new holding system acts as a brace for the cross section of the tank. I talked to Glenn for just a bit, tuesday afternoon. they had 4 guys running to hardware stores getting parts. prior to release they had a huge order from a paintball field so its pretty crazy there. our shipment is coming pretty quick, even though we sent a Bears jersey in with our return turrets(hahaha Glenn said they were all Packer fans....ouch). they also said the Pershing model is coming out real quick too.
that Kt is going to be a monster on the front!!!

you bet Shen. Ern the 16 are us. our team is going to double by the time the pershing comes out. you guys would not believe the amount of interest this is getting with people. its really cool to introduce all these new people to the hobby.

RE: Creeping Death Updates

They're probably to busy to do this, but wouldn't it be great to see a video or build pics of a turret being transformed? I bet Ern wouldlove to see his unt being done.

440fps!!!!! Yikes! Don'tget caught in front of that monster! I can just visualize other tanks getting knocked on their sides from that baby!

I don't really want too be a wet rag here but this is starting to get into the dangerous rang now. Someone could really get hurt with velocity like that. We really don't need the negative publicity since the left wingers are really trying too take our guns away as it is. I don't own a gun but I dont want too lose my right too own one either. I know all you guys use these safely but just remember all it takes is the wrong person too see whats going on and we'll have one heck of a fight on our hands.

RE: Creeping Death Updates

assuming the 440 fps is for a 0.12g bb, then these tanks should probably use a 0.25g or a 0.30g bb to slow them down to a point where you at least have a chance to see where they are going

RE: Creeping Death Updates

I would wait until we see at least one confirmation of performance before the 'your going to put eyes out and ruin our hobby' people need to start to get worried.
The first deliveries and reviews of them are already late so it may not be an issue at all.

RE: Creeping Death Updates

if we dont exercise our rights to own guns & high velocity airsoft tanks then I'd say the left wingers already won. I've said this before and I'll say it again. if i walk up to a bunch of people my age (26)
and ask them if they want to go play laser tag I'll be standing by myself wondering where everyone went. now if i walk up to the same crowd and ask them if they want to go paintballing you'll see alot of cell phones getting flipped on and a party at the local paintball field. its just our generation, thats all. alot of guys here love ir and thats great, but alot of guys out there love airsoft and paintball and that should be just as equal as ir. 440 fps is awesome and if i'm not mistaken the kingtiger was one of the baddest cats on the block. I'd say thats not dangerous just historicly accurate. airsofters should be given just as much room to roam as the ir guys. werent you happy when ralphie got his bb gun....i was!

RE: Creeping Death Updates

Good to know that they're moving right along with making them.

Pattonrocked: did you guys order all Tiger I turrets or is there a mixture of tanks in that order? Just wondering how that is helping or slowing their development plans for the other turrets.

pattonrocked45 07-09-2010 05:48 PM

RE: Creeping Death Updates

we have all tigers right now. they said the pershing is coming very quick. as i understand it the guns are almost all the same type of installation just with a few different parts and tubes. they will be doing every model of tank as i recall.

philipat 07-09-2010 07:07 PM

RE: Creeping Death Updates

cool...I knew they were making them for all of the turrets. But, in previous threads, they had posted a sequence of how they would do the turrets for each tank.

RE: Creeping Death Updates

I'm not knocking airsoft at all. I started out with airsoft tanks, and still have some. they are alot of fun and yes you do have the right too as much room as the IR guys. It aint laser tag. It just seems like alot too me. you guys are going too start actually blowing holes in your tanks. So have at it.

Greg,<div>
If we're talking beyond 10+ feet.</div><div>440 fps plastic BB's aren't going to blow a whole in a tank, the BB will likely shatter, maybe(and maybeis strongly emphasized) there could be a dent or a crack after having suffered multiple impacts in the same region....especially with a Tiger's brittle plastic (verticalside) hull. But how likely is a moving object going to get hit in the exact same spot (or maybe at all:))by a tank being fired by a driver with a 3rd person perspective? It'll mess up a paint job with out a doubt, but....shelf queens shouldn't have been on the field in the first place.</div><div></div><div>440 fps paint balls are most surely not going to blow a whole in a tank and not likely to cause cracks in the hull. But, anything is possible, especially when a specific area has beenrepeatedlystressed by impact.&lt;&lt; I still don't see it happening, but......rivers don't cut canyons by standing still!</div><div></div><div>440 fps metal/aluminum BB's..... severe injury and lethal, no doubt.</div><div></div><div>sidenote:</div><div></div><div>I'm quite curious how they're determining who's stuff gets completed first...if I didn't know any better, <u>it appears</u> they're working on everyones stuff at the same time even though those who got their turrets in first should be the ones focused on. Also, <u>it seems</u> instead of purchasing tanks or turrets they don't have in advance so they could have guns and mounts ready for each type of tank they intend to mod, the customers tank is used for their experiment at the customers expense, forgive me if I'm wrong for those who are compensated for it,.. but if not.....it's not usual, but whatever. So far, we've heard status reports from:</div><div>
Ern, who apparently will be having the first KT...and testing is still being done, since his KT requires a custom mount??</div><div>Shenlonco, who was told it would be shipped on the 1st...still waiting.(only one so far that has been told the item has shipped....or at least posted this info in this thread)</div><div>Pattonrocked, who has 16 other turrets that they need to work on...not to mention CD's priorcommitmentsto a huge order still to be accomplished for a paintball field.</div><div>On top of all that, they're making adjustments and modifications to a system that was said to be "complete."</div><div></div><div>Not to start anything....but it seems that they either don't have their "stuff" together or they're in over their heads. In any event, can't wait to see the first review....but for me, I'll wait till they get a bit more organized.</div>

440 fps metal/aluminum BB's..... severe injury and lethal, no doubt.
Actually the 6mm aluminum bb's I have are only .2g so they are the same weight as a plastic or paint ball airsoft shot. Being shot with one would feel the same as being shot with any old .2g airsoft gun.

Steel bb's are surely heavier but not much. 6mm is pretty small. Being shot with one would hurt like heck but most definitely not be lethal. That's crazy talk and the kind of statement that gets people all riled up about things such as this. :D:D:D

Otherwards a good synopsis of where we are BiggTony. Like you I will wait to watch things unfold here before I buy but this seems to be the same trend as their last big gun release.

Pattonrocked,
Do you guys worry about shooting details off your tanks like headlights/ brackets, MG's etc, or do you remove that stuff prior to battle. I'm an airsoft tanker myself, but just run an shoot in my backyard as I don't know of any clubs.

Those paint balls are .12 grams and about the tanks power if it is that strong and you want it weaker wich may be a good thing it will last longer just use the Air duster cans they come in ywo types A143 strong and 152 weaker power you can probably get this thing down in the two hundreds FPS marke with your choice of propellent you use to power the gun.
I would do some testing and FPS reading in a video using the different type propellents to power the gun when i do get mine.

Yeah, your right...didn't mean to excite anyone looking for a reason to bash it. Just thinking more along the lines of a possibility rather than a certainty. I've been popped a few times with 400fps airsoft machine gun rifles at close proximity a time or two (on bare skin).....certainly not the mostpleasantfeeling in the world getting popped with .20g bb's, but I'm still here!

All I intended too say really was just use caution and good common sense. This doesn't need too be repeated as I know most of the guys on here always do. This was really intended for some of the newer readers that may not realize what 400FPS can do too bare skin or small animals. you wouldn't want too shoot your mothers favorite cat with it. LOL
