Well now it looks like i will be setting home all week so i might as well post another panther build. So far i have used bearings from old roller blades, paper clips, some aluminum gutter, window screen, copper wire and some styrene. This is my kind of project (cheap) the only thing so far i have paid for is a tube of testors putty for the welds and dollar store super glue. I have orderd some pe tool clamps because i have not bed able to scratch any that i like and maby i will spring for a set of metal arms and bushings.

Thank you again for the wheels they will add a nice detail to the turet. I was at a loss trying to find a couple of them any where. Just added louvers to the engine deck from styrene i cut last night. Now i need to fab 12 track holders for the side of the hull.

Looking really good CT! I don't recall you saying what your modeling if your indeed modelling a specific unit/Panther. Anyway, love how it's coming along and look forward to seeing what else you manage to save money on doing yourself!

P.S. How'd the snakehead fishing go? You don't actually eat those ugly things do you or are you just trying to clean out the population of them?

No specific one yet im just building from photos. I dont think we will ever thin them out in the last couple of years they are every where. On the plus side they are easy to catch fite more than bass and taste good wite flakey meat and i dont think they are that ugly. This is a small one i caught a few weeks ago i dident have any thing in the tank so what the heck.

Ahh, I was picturing one of the other ferocious looking Asian Snakehead fishes that plagued some of the norther/southern lakes thanks to some idiot who released them cause they were getting too big for his tank. Never had it before....but man, it resembles a snake too much, lol....I don't think I could eat it. [:'(]<div>
</div><div>Anyway, lovin the Panther detailing....I just might have to spring for a Panther....HL that is. I think my wife will divorce me if I get a third Tamiya in the same month.:D</div>

Karel47 i dont know about Tony but the only way i could get my wife into tanks is to put a strap on it and call it a hand bag. She gripes to me about the nine i have allready so i got some extra about the new panther. It is still cheaper than drinking so i dont see the problem.

Doesn't anyone make an MG 34. Every tank i see with the AA MG on the cupola has an MG 42. this is incorrect. They used 34's in and on all tanks.<div> They only carried so many MG rounds and the 42 went through ammo too fast.</div>

I got a little moore done on the exhaust and tool bins today. This one came with a mg34 but it is not very good. I dont know why all the other models that had one came with a mg42 exept the stug. I have read that they used the mg34 on tanks because it doesent like dirt and the 42 was better for the infantry.

CheapTank,
Can you show us the mounts for the schuzern and would the same body mounts be appropriate for the PZ IV?

Thanks. and very nice tank.

Jim

The mounts are square styrene and aluminum strip gloed to the bottom of the fenders. The pziv is totaly differant it uses a rail mounted to the upper hull and fenders.
