rc command AWOL?

I sent payment last week, but 2 phone calls and 3 or 4 emails to order more stuff and then to check on shipping of the original order have gone unanswered since then. That does not inspire confidence.</p>

RE: rc command AWOL?

He can be very hard to get in touch with.  He is slow to respond and slow to ship but he did come through for me in the end.  He even refunded money for parts he could not get.

Just keep pestering him...

RE: rc command AWOL?

I usually don't order from him due to the many threads like this that pop up. I decided last week to give him a try cuz I heard he was getting better. emailed him and Phil asking if tey had parts in stock. RCCommand never answered my e-mail. Phil responded within hours and I ordered from him. Parts were in my hands in under 5 days. Voting with ones wallet.

Yes, it looks like a mistake.

Same boat (or tank ) here "unforeseen delays" I was told then e-mail went quiet since then. That was last thursday. Order went in 8/5.
I have even tried to work with him to get one of a couple models if in stock since I had a hard time choosing just what I wanted.
Hmmmmmm......
You never know what someone may be going through in their life, business etc... but not to be cold here, his problems should not be the customers problem.
Shut it down if you can't handle it or regroup and come back when you can please the customer. He's doing bad business here.

Reordered with Phil @ RCtankwars, already have 2 responses and a ship date of tomorrow.

Not yet.

Pester him a lot.

It took 8 months to get my money back, but I did get a full refund on the parts he could not send.  I had to get nasty and sound mean to get him to respond.

I too have an order comming from Phil at RC Tankwars, sorry Bill.

Bashnbreakalot 08-20-2010 07:32 PM

RE: rc command AWOL?

Great..........
Crap.........
I don't have the money to spend to have a double order at Tankwars and rc command.
Why don't people just do what's right?
Good luck wpm.

RE: rc command AWOL?

Although I couldn't get a response otherwise, rc command responded immediately to my paypal dispute and refunded the money, so good for him. And I already have tracking info from Phil, so great for him!

RE: rc command AWOL?

Well, bill still has his day job and he travels alot. just like the situation with Willy, but alot of the newer people here would not know about that. He also nolonger has his "Partner " who was supposed to handle all this stuff while he was away.  This was a mistake on Bills part that he is still paying for. when he is watching the show things run smoothly but when he cannot dedicate the time needed it gets a little sticky. I will now and always stand behind Bill be cause i know him and he is very conscientious about this hobby and dislikes they way things are at times also. But I know he is working to rebuild his reputation but it will take time. .He did have to reorder almost his entire inventory as most of it some how turned up missing. But I wont comment on that any further.

RE: rc command AWOL?

I agree with Panther G. I have seen some threads about RCcommand, and I have yet to have an issue with Bill. He has been good to me since I started in this hobby. He, like many of us, have other responsibilities and cannot always be right there to respond.

olfart 08-21-2010 06:18 PM

RE: rc command AWOL?

Well, thanks to Panther G and Yellowshaker's comments, I feel a bit better about my order from RCcommand. I'll give it a while longer and see what happens. It's mainly just rear idler adjusters and some fluff items I ordered. I ran a battery down yesterday and all seems fine, so no rush. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ular_smile.gif

wpm 08-21-2010 10:25 PM

RE: rc command AWOL?

I was in a rush, and made it clear I was particular about turn-around time before I ordered. Having said that, 8 months of 'pestering' before gettinga refund is ridiculous by any stretch.

I cannot speak for others' experience, only my own. I am sorry that you had such a bad time with RCcommand, but I cannot say the same.

As I have stated I have just recently tried to order from RCcommand. No response whatsoever. I suggest if you want something from them you go through Panther G as he is the only one that seems to get his emails returned from Bill.
If your not willing to go through Panther G then I suggest you put a fork in this dead pig. Good god, Phil is so easy to order from, why even f with this?

RE: rc command AWOL?

Well I cant say that would be the best approach either as I have no personal interest in his company. I can only tell what I know of the situation. I have not spoken to Bill in quite awhile my self, so the current situation may have changed. Everyones turn around time can change. I have waited extended periods of time from various vender's for parts or other items from this forum also. In this hobby the vender's are at the mercy of the manufacturers. That is all there is too that.  Asiatam is notorious for slow delivery as they only make their products in small lots. Every one is different.

Pah co chu puk 08-22-2010 12:45 PM

RE: rc command AWOL?

Well I belive Bill is a Good guy dealing with a bad situatation.  He did refund my money in the end so I give him points for that.  As for how his business is going, well...  everyone has bad times and most of us get by, cause others cut us some slack.

I am going to order from Bill again sometime.  It will be small, cheap stuff he can ship easy so I can test him and he can keep a business going.  We need more vendors out there, not less.  Bashing Bill does not help us get parts any cheaper or faster, having more guys out there selling us parts will.

I say spread your money around and keep all our vendors afloat.

Panther G 08-22-2010 03:42 PM

RE: rc command AWOL?

I actually received a CAL from Bill today after these posts. It seems there is a quarrel going on in china where all this stuff is being made between the manufacturer and the venders. Asiatam being one party involved. Shipments from China are slower than ever and there are a few disputes going on.<div> this may cause some delays with parts. all of our present suppliers we use will be seeing this delay affect them. Phil included , so it is not just Bill. It is gonna affect all of them. Anyone ever notice that even Welshdragon models is usually out of stock of a lot of items. watch his site too and you will see.</div>

Thanks, Panther G, for the update.

I have orders out there and now I will be a little more understanding.  I may also hold off future orders till we hear more from our valued suppliers.

Oh, I don't like the sound of that.

I just got into this hobby in July and REALLY like it, I hope this doesn't completely shut off the flow of "new toys" , I think there's a Panzer IV F2 in my future, I hope it is not a too distant future.

What? Their whole market thrives on backward engineering. It's because of that, I can buy Itones, Mypads and Sonies! couldn't possibly be the case....but would be funny if that were true! lol How do you claim something that isn't yours?

wpm 08-22-2010 09:27 PM

RE: rc command AWOL?

Problems in China don't explain lack of communication from Bill, and don't explain why I didn't get an item quickly that Bill said was in stock...that said the biggest thing for me is that he refunded the money.

Panther G 08-23-2010 12:55 PM

well good for you Mr. we dont know you from anywhere who has never once ever posted on here. i'm glad you got your money back. If bill didnot have it in stock fine, he should have said so. And i'm sure he did, which you probably forgot too tell us. and if Phil had it in stock good for him too.

RE: rc command AWOL?

OK. I feel I gotta update here.
Since my last post earlier last week I have had several emails from Bill.
He was VERY helpful, gave me several options, (including refund) and we finally settled on a KV-1 over the M41A3 that I originally ordered.
The KV-1 was actually one of my first choices, that or the T1 but price and research on this forum led me to the Bulldog.
He upgraded the KV-1 for free to super series as compensation for my troubles and said it will ship today or tomorrow.
I'll let you know.

Don't get nasty Panther G- I am a newbie with 24 posts, and I am just telling you my honest experience. Don't shoot the messenger. And no, I didn't leave any info out, you dolt. BTW I got Phil's parts already. THAT's service.

Panther G 08-23-2010 09:38 PM

RE: rc command AWOL?

Is that the best you got. LOL.  Try a special order or custom  part from Phil and see how long it takes. I've been through all this before with all these venders. Most of us have. it happens. I assure you things are going to get more complicated and all of us are going to wait longer periods of time for many parts. yuo just dont get that fact that this is a part time gig for them all. Except Karen or Bob from ETO. You mean to tell me everything you have ever ordered over the internet came is one weeks time. not likely. My self, i know whats going on with bill and it is going to affect Phil also. many others I bet too. For every satisfied customer there is one dissatisfied customer. your never going to please everyone every time.  Good day too you sir and good luck with your project.

Hey wpm, welcome to the board. 24 posts isn't that bad, especially when Biggtony makes that many post in an hour:D:D:D Don't worry, there is no 'rule' or arbiter on this board that gets to tell you how long you have to be a member before they feel you can post about RCCommand but it does give you the lay of the land.

Glad you got some excellent service from Phil, I have too. Next step is to make it awesome and post some pic's

I'm just havin some fun, dont everybody go gettin your panties in a bunch. As I said If bill knew they were out of stock he would have or should have told you. that i 100% agree. It is very frustrating waiting for parts to complete a project, and I know this first had.<div> There is 1 thing you need to understand. It is common around here for the truth to be stretched about these matters and we have all seen it before. </div><div> There are people who are just not going to be happy no matter what the real situation is. Phil is a great guy and a good dealer. You have not had a chance to see it but Bill was and will be again in the future. there are things going on behind the scene that may place this whole hobby in jeopardy</div><div> when posts like yours turn up there is going to be some skepticism.</div><div> you never did say what part or vehicle that it was you ordered. It is relevant too the story.</div><div> now i can do this all day but feel like i can better use my time working on my tanks.</div>

Bashnbreakalot 08-23-2010 10:24 PM

RE: rc command AWOL?

Panther G,
You have too many tanks.
I can help. Box a few of them up, send them to me (I will pay postage) and I will treat them as my own children.
I promise to drive them everyday, to not drive them in too tall grass, clean their treads on a regular basis and to use them only in period specific scenarios.:D

They told me " He who dies with the most toys wins " Well I'm trying. LOL<div>Again Mr WPM I dont really bash any one, just some dry humor. I know the feeling waiting for months nut just days for parts. These guys all do this in there spare free time, if there is such a thing, so try holding a full time job and raising a family and doing all this at the same time. It aint easy.</div><div> Steve from WelshDragon, has the best delivery times of ANY and I mean any supplier, BUT he too is often out of stock on alot of items. what can you do? </div>

Update for anyone that may care.
I received my KV1 today. Bill was very considerate to answer all my stupid questions and we were able to come to a happy ending.
I haven't run the tank yet (Why are all the batts in my other Tx's dead?) but as soon as my batts are charged I'll run it in the dark if I have to.
I'm elated yet terrified I may have another RC addiction- Cars, trucks, helis and now tanks. Maybe I'll sell my other toys and compete with PantherG for "He who dies with the most toys."
