Default starter box issue HELLFIRE

Searched, but no luck. Anyway, is for a HELLFIRE? If i want to set up a start box for the HELLFIRE....
1. Do i need to remove the pull start?
2. Do i need to remove the one way bearing or the starter shaft?

I am afraid the starter box will drag and break the pull start?

How to face the car on the starter box?

I am a newbie, pls help.

Cheers

A couple of questions.

1. Are you using the stock K4.6

2. What starter box are you using

I just bought it and it has a stock K 4.6 with a pull start attached. I have not bought a starter box yet before i can get my questions solved. So, do i need to take out the one way bearing? Should I take out the pull start as well? Or, just leave them (owb and ps) alone as long as I face it in the right direction/rotation of the starter box? Cheers..

Yes, I would recommend removing the backplate, and the one-way bearing as well. Kellum Machine Works make a pullstart replacement backplate for the K4.6, that should work fine. There really wouldn't be a durability issue with leaving the pullstart on the engine, but it will rob power and cause vacuum leaks.

As for the starter box, pick up the Ofna chrome-top, part number 10250. Position the front of the truck towards the hinge and set it up from there.

haha, heckfire, anywayz, u really dont HAVE to remove any of that stuff, it will just sit ther, add weight and drag, they will stay totally fine, but, taking that extra weight, and drag off the engine is definately what you want to do if you are a racer, but if not a racer, just a basher, i would say keep it in there, just incase, mayb ur box breaks on day, atleast u can use the pull start while waiting, and dont have 2 waste time putting it back on

Hi,

Any 1/8 buggy starter box should fit with simple adjustment. Yeah, you can keep those on the engine.

Regards

Hello, you can order the Axial bumpstart backplate stock #ax0091 from www.stormerhobbies.com. This backplate will fit the HPI 4.6 engine.
