Ive been looking into truggies and seemed to like these three. Was wondering if you guys could help me out and give me your opinions and experiences with these. I like the xtm cause its a 2 speed. The hellfire is sweet, but the mantis is 100 bux cheaper and has axion products. My buddie just bought a revo 3.3 and i want to get a truggie that would stomp the revo. thanks for your help

i'd say get the mantis. but that's only because me and a friend of mine just got one and it is a very good truggy with a little setup. i've driven the hellfire and it is fast but not reliable and the xtm mammoth just can't hang with the other two.

ok, i've seen all three, and hellfire would not b the choice for you, it has alot of potential, but needs lots of mods to get that, if u like the 2speed on the mammoth (which is what i hav, the st version) then go for it, its great bang for your buck rtr, and leme tell you, once broken in, its amazing (o yeah, mine has the xtm 457 motor in it, which is slightly bigger, but the 24.7 motor is good 2) and the only problem with 2 speed trannies, is if u wana race a tight track, u want a 1 speed, but juz tunning the shift point can fix that, or make it not shift at all :]
the mantis is good, but not as quality, and doubtful taht it can beat out a revo 3.3
i'd say go for the mammoth st, u can get em on ebay for a bargan!
only thing i'd hav 2 say, is get extra diff shims, because diff starts 2 slip because of raw power :], the shims are only like $.50 for a bag of 10, lol, not expensive at all, www.hobbypeople.net has everything u need. make sure 2 add an extra fuel filter in the fuel tubing, and u should b set 2 go :]

If you want a RTR from XTM, I'd say get the Mammoth ST. However, if you can afford the Mammoth ST Pro Kit, that's even better than the RTR ST. Good luck!
Here's links to both trucks:

Mammoth ST Pro Kit (lots of hop-ups installed from the factory)- http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/145620.asp

I think ur also forgetting about the CEN Matrix TR arena. I seen a few at the track and the .28 engine it comes with screams. I'm really didn't want to believe it, but after I saw one at the track, I was quite suprised.
And it's about the same price range as the Mantis, maybe just a little more but not much and definitely cheaper than the Hellfire and Jammin RTRs.
When I saw that the CEN comes stock also with a 7075 chassis, shock towers, and diff brace, and the .28 3 port engine I thought it was gonna cost closer to 600 but most places sell it for about $470.

its amazing how you can mention CEN now and people will back you up instead of degrade you. Back when the buggy came out, peeps were happy to talk smack to me because I recommended a CEN product.
If there is one thing I do not like about the matrix, its the drive axle to the front diff. I always wonder if it'd be more efficient if the angle wasn't so steep/sharp.

I have an XTM XT2 with a 457 and JP2 pipe. Just ordered the Mammoth ST. I plan on swapping the motor and pipe between the two. Can you tell me what plug you find to be the most durable when you are running your 457?? Have any parts worn down from normal usage?? Thanks

i'd personally take a mammy pro kit over a mantis, but thats just me. heard many a horror story about axial's engines and being short lived.
