So the himoto parts do fit on here, I knew it How much are the billets compared to VTX? I like that front arm mount better, the vtx one has the hole cut so low theres hardly any aluminum where it needs the most! I threw on a spare from my hyper 7 and so far no problems, not as pretty though. I'll get the dogbones here locally, hopefully hellfire or crt ones fit, and hopefully that will take care of the problem. I have had one break before but I was so worried about driving soft for the gears I never thought to look for that.[:@] They are 125mm from stem to stem.

Hey guys,

I see your trucks evolving nicely! Sucks about that dogbone blowing ur dif! They usually will pop out when the vehicle is in the air and the suspension is fully articulated. Try using shock mounting locations that limit suspension travel and overcome the damping changes by shock-oil viscosity. I don't use those little set screws to limit travel,,,,,,,,, only the shocks themselves! Outside holes in the lower arm and inside hole on shock tower. You will probably need to increase oil weight if you make this change.

My buggy is still running great but my engine mods have turned strictly to power mods. I have bought 4 Mach .26 engines to play with. I luv these engines because they can be found cheap and with 7 port design u can really get busy! I just tried a new crank induction-fan cut with great results! It is basically a fan like you would find on an alternator! Also thought about rifling the induction port kinda like a screw blower.

My Mach's are insane now! So much power they are hard to control,,,,,, wheels spinning every which way! I can turn the wheel, hit the throttle, and it will break all tires loose and do a crazy looking spin with tires ballooning like there gonna fly off the rims!!!!! That's on clean asphalt with my Muggy!!!!! LOL!!!!!!

No dogbone anywhere, it must have broken. I took out the other one to compare at lhs and it is in pretty bad shape, bent a bit and twisted about 45 degrees. I guess I'll get two then and keep this for a spare after some straightening. My CVD's in the front are in excellent shape though, guess thats why cvd's cost more. The set is like $25 on myhobbydepot, get those next too.

Has anybody seen or tried out the billet shock towers yet? Theres no picture on the site yet and its only like $50 for the set! Other truggies sell one for that much. Go Team VTX.

One more thing, I have a lot of people at the track ask me what truck this is, I tell them but its hard to get the name out, "TEAM VTX ST-1 , TRUGGY" I feel like a robot. How about for the next version they give it a name, not like a model number. Now that I think about it they all have model number names, mbx5t, 8t, crt, ttr st1, mp777 strrrrr. How about the "Team Vertex ST1 Pro Truggy Elite XXXLT8" huh? huh?

I have 100% proof the dogbone was in there before I went to the track, I took a picture!

Hey there got all of my other parts today and spent the whole day putting both of the truggies together and hit the track tonight for a couple of hours. They ran great the ventewd clutch bells work great I ran a 13 t and man the LRP has some big balls. The other one has the chicken neck bell housing on it still, Have not cut the chassie yet still have three more of the funny bells to go threw. Did not break a thing tonight ran like a top both of them.

I have to say the chicken neck endbells suck pretty bad! Not a good design at all! I haven't chewed one up yet but I have had the screw back out once and almost trashed the gears! You really need to be careful about the spacers with that endbell.

I just bought 2 each of 11T-14T endbells and 46-52 tooth spur gears so I will have plenty of ratio options on all my vehicles.

Man, I have spent way too much on this stuff lately!!!!! LOL! I now have enough parts to completely rebuild all 3 of my vehicles!

I haven't bought any billet shock towers. They do look nice but if I do anything it will be carbon. Some people claim they break but I have always run carbon and have never broken any parts! I guess it's possible if you do a 1/2 back flip off a 10 foot jump or something! I have never abused my cars and when racing I am usually pretty clean and out front anyway! LOL!

I really want someone to make carbon or fiberglass chassis for my vehicles. All my old 1/10th scale chassis were carbon or graphite! A completely carbon car would be a real seller!

I have all carbon fiber on top and have never broke anything yet!!! But I have broke other things all the time. Did you say you got diffrent size clutch bells the chicken kind or do you run the stock bells. This truck I have not cut the chassie yet I still have three of the funkie clutch bells and when they are gone out comes the dremel!!!!!!!!!

I should be getting my clutchbells any day now! I bought some spur gears as well! I will put the biggest spur gears that I can in each of my vehicles. Pinion sizes ordered range from 11-14 tooth so I should have plenty of options!

I find myself really liking these Truggies and Muggies!

Has anybody tried dual rear brakes? It should be great tire screeching power and put less strain on the servo. I ordered some hellfire brake pads and disks but the disks don't fit, small mod awaits. Here are some pics. Gotta do something while she's down ya know. Heres some pics of what I'm talking about.

with the trinity 20% grape juice I had the 26 at 3 1/4 (3 out and 3 hours) out HSN and 5 out LSN with a OS A3 plug. Thats what would keep it on the track but it will run very hot, body melting hot, even if you seal it up. Grease up your needles, tighten down the HSN needle assembly and see what temps do after that. Also cut out the drivers side window for more air. I hope you did not do a heat cycle break in on that engine, it does not like that.[] Good luck, some of us.. well most of us have had the engine replaced already. They replace it with a similar engine but its a 25. My 26 did not see its second gallon but did see its second con rod explode.

Some of the engines are, the truck is great.

I drilled out the shock pistons smallest drill bit I had, I think 1/16? Then I used 40wt front, 45wt rear. Our track is bumpy from heavy rains so softer shocks are necessary. I have mine at tops out bottoms in on possitions. Also I switched to the big Losi shocks recently and the lap I put in with them so far it ran great. I should have all the necessary parts on wednesday to have her ready for some heavy driving this weekend.

I found out the cause of my diff problems, I guess when I shimmed up the diffs I used 1 or 2 too many shims and the 2 bearings that hold the bevel gear went bad, or just very wobbly. I was driving the buggy today and thought the rear drive cup came loose again but it was just wobbling around even though it was tight, still loctited down. I took it apart and I guess I need to check these bearings more regularly cause "they was bad![X(]" I got some new ones in there with the new tini 13t and 45t crown bevel gears. Second set here this week too. Next week I hope to find a lot more problems that no one else seems to go through. I have the buggy in about 6 piles of parts right now going through everything this week. I want a full day of driving for once[>:]

[sm=lol.gif]Ran both of my VTX ST-1 s At new track out in the high desert here in so cal just a little turn of the HSN and they have ran problem free[sm=lol.gif] Even the chicken neck bell housing I have let of the one with the OFNA force 28. I must have come up with a washer combo and locktight that works great The other one has the LRP .28 in it and the stock clutch bell ran great, but that dam LRP motor is so power full that it rattles all the nuts and bolts loose on the truggy [sm=spinnyeyes.gif] But other then that all is well and Hey SDP don't worry about the temps just run it and go from there. I have two of them and drive for the team and they are a great truggy's and just need a little TLC here and there. So if you have any problems you just ask and someone or I will help you okay/ Eric

Got a bunch of parts in and some washers, took her out today in a drizzle and got about 5 tanks in before clutchbell went bad. One of the bearings blew up and caused some striping of teeth. Got plenty of those. By the end of the trip the track had a bunch of creeks running through it. Should be nice tomorrow.
