No, lots of pushing. Turns like crap. Just like the buggy version. I know a kid who works at a hobby shop who can't get the thing to turn right at all. And belive me he knows his stuff.

Well that's what i heard & seen. You are probaly right, it's his setup, but thats not the only person i have heard that from. I have never driven one so this is just my visual opinion. Im not trying to bash it, its a good truck, i just love my CRT and have had no issues at all with it. I would recommend the CRT not the Mugen. My opinion. Sorry.

any reason why someone would want to buy something that not only has a weight and design disadvantage, but also is made of plastics and metals that wear out faster?

Mugen is supperior cause of its quality and how light it is. Believe it or not, Kyosho is right up there with Mugen if not better, the only problem with the STR, it takes more money to get it on par if not better than the rest out there. whats GREAT about the STR is the fact that you can change its center spur gear out for anything inbetween a 46T-52T covering any track setting. thats one thing i WISH the Mugen had, was that option. its allot easier to just change out your center diff than messin with clutches and pipes and it reduces stress off of your engine as well.
even with the Mugen out and the new Losi 8T i am still convinced the STR fully loaded is the best kit out there. after you break in your diffs and shim accordingly, buy the extended chasis its DIALED!
its light, easy to dial in, lots of options, and yes its durable. the only downfall, it isnt bad ass out of the box, its capable and race ready yes, but you have to put in some money to get it ontop. with the mugen, its as loaded as it can get out of the box, but there are some things i wish can get changed and from the looks of things, it wont happen.

What do you mean you can't change the spur gear for the Mugen? I see you cannot go to a larger spur gear, but you can certainly install a smaller one. And as for changing gear ratio, changing the clutch bell makes a bigger difference than changing the spur gear. But that means the STR can do both.
But as you said, the STR needs some stuff to be totally dialed, and the Mugen doesn't.
I guess it's a matter of whether or not you want to spend the extra money to get the STR totally dialed.
