Default Team VTX ST-1 vs XTM Mammoth ST vs. OFNA Mutilator??

I know there are a lot of posts on here like this. I am looking for a truggy, under the $ 400 mark . I want something I can bash with as well as race sometimes. Electronics, ie transmitter and reciever makes no difference to me (I have JR XS3 pro).

I want something durable, tunable, fast and well handling, but on my budget. I am looking very hard at the Mammoth and the Team VTX but i need some more feedback on each of these.

I have 3 stadium trucks(2wd) and I am looking for something different.

I was also looking at the Traxxas S-Maxx because of the price and options parts.

Any help would be appreciated.

PS. I also have a Cen Genesis for bashing, so I am looking for more than just a basher.

I haven't run any of these personally, but I have read a lot!

The VTX looks like a good platform. Do a little research here and at truggyracers.com you can lean more about it.

Many people swear by the Mammoth. Though I'm not a big XTM fan.

The mutilator has lots of problems right out of the box. Once again, read here and at truggyracers. It can be made very competitive, you just end up spending more money.

Check out the Robitronics Mantis and the CEN Matrix TR Arena. Both are VERY good and competitive out of the box.
They run a bit more expensive. But can be had for under $450.

I am getting a Matrix Arena personally. The Mantis is supposed to be a good platform also. The only drawback is that Robitronics is a new company (no biggy) and LHS's probably wont carry parts. Though Tower has a complete stock of parts. Just stinks if you need a part "yesterday".

Hope that helps a little.

I have mammy ST, with a few upgrades it is a very good truggy for the money!

$349.95 at my shop. I will take a few bucks to get it race worthy

mammy's good...but is heavy if you plan on racing...mutilator don't know much about and the VTX-1 looks solid if i didn't want a mugen or something i'd try the VTX
