RE: truggy wings
hey Questuions are good....
personaly about the only time i notice the wing is at High speed....
usually on tracks where the straight is more than 150+
infield ? there is not enough speed at "Scale" to effect it.......
now Changing it's "Height" will make a difference.....
we tried it at a "Wind Tunel".....there is no model on the market that will make a difference
at there stock wing height......
the ones we tried...that we had access to were:
TTR St-1
Jammin CTR
Kyosho STR
MUGEN MBX5T Prospec
CEN TR Arena
HellFire
only setting that made a difference were as Follows:
TTR ST-1....1/2 inch higher made a very noticeable difference at wind tunnel speeds of 5mph to 35mph.......
Jammin.......wing ha to be 1inch back more and 2 inches higher to make Any Differences at wind tunnel speeds of 8mph+
Kyosho needed to be 2 inches back and 2 inches higher..to be affected at speeds of 10mph+
Mugen .....1/2 inch higher 2 inches back to be affected by wind tunnel speeds of 5mph and higher up to 40mph
CEN TR Arena 2 1/2 inches higher ! 2 inches back....to be affected by wind tunnel speeds 11mph and up......
HellFire 3/4 of an inch higher and 1 1/2 back to be affected by wind tunnel speeds of 4mph up to 32mph.....
hope soe of this can help....

RE: truggy wings
sorry ?? my bad.....[]
what can i say always like to keep everyone informed...LOL....
the wings we tried were "Stock" wings...ones that came with the kits had the best results....
but Ironicly one of the better ones was the "HotBodies" wings....!?!?!?!?!?
the proline was the Absolute least effective???? in "Stock Positions"
one of the less noticeable influanceable ones was and we were suprised???
but Computers don't lie in a wind tunnel? was a Himoto wings???
with all the "Wierd Lines" and folds we "Thought" would be dialed...????
the absolute best one was from a Tamiya truck??? we did even know Tamiya had a "Truggy"
but had a strange double side dam wing?? this one had the best results at lowest speeds.....
as soon as we can get ahold of another one i like to try it some more...????

RE: truggy wings
Another little tip that would work well with the wings is mounting your body as low as possible exposing as much of the wing as possible allowing it to work more. this is why you see more of a difference on a typical 1/8th scale buggy the wing is alot higher than the roof line of the buggy body.
