thunder tiger st1 vs cen matix arean tr
Hi I am new to the truggy world and i was wanting to buy a rtr truggy and i narrowed my search to these two truggys. I know there have been other threads regarding the top or best rtr truggys but I just wanted a honest opinion on these two because no one talks about the thunder tiger st1 alot and I heard that it is one of the best rtr on the market. Any help would be grateful and I am a newb.

well if your going to just bash and in General just have some fun..
the Matrix TR Arena is a really good deal.....
for racing....i would recommend the Thunder Tiger....
"Out Of the Box" the Tiger is more Planted
easier to get used to and there is really nothing more needed??
fill the diffs with "Diff Oil" (5k front, 7k center, and 3 to 5k in the rear)
the CEN TR
excelent truggy....but you will need to break in the diffs (bout 2 gallons)
and the diffs will come around....or buy the new cross pin diff mod....
for racing i would not recommend the stock diffs.....even when broken in...
yes there really good and just about Bullet proof...
but not well suited for racing...where track conditions will change and will need
a more "Conssistant Feel" when driving on these types of surfaces......
but if keeping the stock diffs or racing???
remove 2 sun gears from "Each" diff.....
and run "Gear Oil" in the diffs....60wt in front 90wt center and 60wt in rear.
keep in mind these are NOT regular shock oils or diff oils! you can find this oil at cycle shops and "High End" automotive shops etc......
"If Your Deciding On Racing The CEN"........
if not pull it out of the box drop in some batteries have some great fun!! there really fun for bashing, and tearing up the dirt roads...
and on both the stock radios are "Ok" but would "Strongly" recommend upgraded radios on Either.......say for example the "Spektrum" radio system (just radio and Receiver)
around here will run around 155.00
greatpart about those systems, never have to wait for Freqency clips? or ever have to worry if someone will turn on there radio while yours is on...etc.......

The ST-1 is very good for bashing, too cause you can get a 2-speed tranny and make that car drive way too fast to handle... (and illegal on the track).

Any more opinions on the ST1? A mate is looking at selling his, can't really get Cen parts that easily in Oz.
Are they pretty strong? Had a TT TS4N Pro V2 on road car but it was pretty fragile.
