28 and smaller. the engine that seems to get the most hype in my area is the vspec. i know its a .21, from what i understand the only real difference is fuel economy. everyone seems to love it. just a little too much. or do you guys think it is worth it to wait it out and get a better engine?

I think the v-spec is a wast of money. I have a STS 21B and it will almost run with the v-psec's is just I didn't take the time to fully break mine in so I lost quit a bit of compression, so if I would of took the time it would be running with the v-spec's, and the STS 21B is only $120 at http://www.projectzen.net/page3.html
another STS 21 to look at would be the STS 21T MKii at http://www.stsmicroengines.com/index...c4fe878c251e40
then for a good 28 go with the picco p3 28 I heard it will run with the novarossi 528.

I have this in my trugy and it really pulls on the bottom-mid but really seems to run out of steam at thetop end but this motor makes my truggy pull the wheels in the air on grass

I just finished breaking in my Associated Z.28R spec#3, and it seams to be strong all the way round. Pulls the tires on grass and will fly top end! I am running it on my 8ightT

I'm going to be running the same engine in my XT8. A friend is actually breaking it in on a stand for me right now. It's a good looking engine. I hope it performs well for me. How well does it tune/hold a tune?

the mamba was easy to break in as long as you heat the motor with a heat gn or blow dryer before you break it in and when I got my engine about 2 weeks aga and the trugy it was set a little to lean from the factory I had to richen it up about 1/6 of a turn after that it broke in fine

Once again I have to recomend the Jammin JPX 28..... The JPX 28 is loosly based off the Picco P3 28.. except the JPX has a shorter stroke and bigger bore. The Jammin JPX 28 is basically a punched out race .21..... So the motor is going to feel like a big .21, FYI the JPX 28 has the same stroke as the Ninja 28 16.8 mm as opposed to the P3 28's 17.6 mm... the shorter stroke bigger bore is going to make for a revvier feeling motor, which will be ideal for Truggy racing.... The older 28's like the Nova 528 and P3 28 are alsmost too powerful for truggy, they make too much power in the bottom end to be useful on the track..... The new generation of race .28's are smoother and more useable in track conditions....for the $$$ the JPX 28 is hard to beat....

RE: best engine under $225
but it also depends what kind of track he is racing on too if it is a more like a wide open track then the mamba is not a good motor to use, use the axe rossi cobra the mamba is made more for a tight technical cause of the stupid amount of torque the motor has

STS will warranty the motors, just sned the motor in and they will ship you a new one.... i ended up buying a few of them at once, then got stuck with em.... They are a very fine running engine, but they definitely had a batch or two of bad crankshafts.....so now i run Picco
