I have a Jammin CRT pro wit the ofna one piece engine mount. I picked up a brand new mach 27 out of an LST2 with the clutch and everything on it. I want to put it in the CR but it won't fit. Here is what I need help on:
#1) I got an ofna 14T clutchbell but when I put it on there is too much extra space in front of it and it slides back and forth. How do I make it fit?
#2) the motor won't fit in the mount, the spin start plate is way to tall for it.
Has anyone made tis work? Please help me with any info, PICS would be awesome if you could. I am real frustrated right now.

I had the same issue with my mach 427 in my ST-1. I ended up having to cut the bottom half right after the bottom of the crankcase of the spinstart backplate and the metal backplate. It works just fine without the bottom 2 screws the top two seem to support it just fine. Another thing that might work is RTR motor mounts but I am not 100% sure. To cut the backplate i used a dremel with a cutting blade, took a while but I cut it. If you want I can take some pictures.
About the play in the clutch bell a good 1-2mm of play is good as long as the entire clutch bell is coverng the clutches and it doesn't rub the spur gear on the center differential. If it has ALOT of play pick up a ofna shim kit at your LHS or here.

Thanks man, I am bummed about that. I want one to just drop in easily. Anyone else tried anything that worked? Are there motors that will drop right in? I don't want to use a starter box, I want to keep spin start style.

Ha.. Welcome to the club as far as this problem goes...
You have two options:
1.) You can go HPI rotostart.. To do this, you need 1.) the backplate and 2.) one-way bearing, from an XTM 24.7
Look it up on ebay..
or...
2.) There is a Sportwerks bumpstart backplate.. You would then need a starterbox...

I ordered the XTM backplate and hope to start the Mach in my Hyper ST with Rotostart....

Patrick, can you post a link of everything I need for the rotostart option? Also is this method tried and true? Lastly of course I have the losi spin start and not the HPI roto, will the hpi rotostart different rod work in the losi spin start? I know the HPI uses a dogbone stlye end.

Go to www.truggyracers.com, and scroll down to "nitro engines".. There's a whole thread there with all the info you need...
It's the very first line in that sub-forum..
As for using the spin-start, well, that's what I wanted to do too..(my Mach came out of a Muggy, WITH Spin-start...), BUT..................... I don't think it's possible.. As far as I know, it's gotta be Roto-start and XTM backplate..... You need 1.) the XTM backplate, and 2.) the XTM one-way bearing....
Then, of course, a rotostart backplate, and the rotstart itself...

The truggy version basically means no backplate at all.. It's bumpstart...
I bought the Mach to go in my Hyper ST truggy, but it didn't fit, so now I have an LRP pullstart version converted to rotostart installed....
