Removing your front diff, center-to-front dogbone (or CVD), and front-drive dogbones (or CVD's) ought to do the trick; however, you can drift quite nicely in sand with a 4-wheel drive - I do it from time-to-time myself. Give your brakes 90% rear-wheel bias and tap them when you're 20% into a turn and then juice it to find out how well it will slide. Also, take your pinon gear down a tooth or two to increase the low and mid-range torque that is mostly used in turns.

RE: Making a truggy 2WD
thanks cobra, im completely outta tyres, destroyed like 5 sets in the past 2 weeks.
all i had lying around were slicks, wanted to test them out tomorrow.
i drive in gravel/hard sand.
i know how to drift with 4wd, its just not the same.
and how obvious is it that i used to be on-road lol.?
tho i might be buying a jato just for this.
also ive heard that it could damage your center diff by doing that.
how true is it.?

Only way to do that would be to remove the front shaft (from center diff to the front diff case) then open the center diff, drain the diff fluid and pack it with silly putty. This will make the truggy rear wheel drive.

i dont think its gonna be such a smart idea lol.
am planning to get a new truggy, preferbly RTR.
whats the best one avaliable.
i dont like the muggy (no offence to owners) i just dont know why.
i dont race often, i just bash.
i really truly do not wanna build a kit.

the best RTR is the losi 8ight T rtr, but it's also the most expensive RTR, it comes with DSM radio and a great engine, and is really a great truggy all around (i bash mine most of the time), otherwise i'd suggest the thunder tiger ST-1, $289.

you can adjust the rear suspension to have a toe-out or toe-neutral instead of toe-in. should bring the rear around on-power. locking the center diff puts a lot of stress on the one diff and will probably damage it. if you do lock the center diff use an old one.

RE: Making a truggy 2WD
why would any one want to make a truggy 2wd, the front diff went out on my mammoth st and alls it did was do donuts because it had to much power in the rear wheels and the small 2wd's are hard to drive enough so the truggy with 2wd wont even go in a strait line unless your driving on the street
