So im gettin back into the race scene
ok ive been off of the track for quite sometime now and ive decided i missed racing a lot. Im going to be racing my jammin x1 crt rtr this summer this truck is brand new i won it in an online raffle i have not even broke the seal on th box yet, and yes i know it needs upgrades, im on a buget for this truck i have an extra 650 to spend on it, so i need some people that have had this truck or still do to give me a little advise on it from what to buy / change to setups on this vehical to make it ready for the track.

RE: So im gettin back into the race scene
i would get the big bore shocks, the pro shock tower braces (i broke mine in a head on crash with a park bench) , and new tires, put silicon diff lube in then you should be ok.
i did the everything but the big bore shocks and now i love it even more. i have not been able to get it on a track yet becouse i am in the process of moving back to the states but it runs so much better for what i do around here.
if i forgot anything someone please correct me

Jammin x-1 crt is a great ride. If I had to pick one upgrade for the RTR it would be TIRES. Pro line LPR is a great choice and my personal choice at that. I also have a set of Pro line mulchers that kick @$$ too.

Well, since its an RTR, and you have an extra 650 to spend on it, replace the stock servos with high torque/speed, z brace and tires. Also, as other people have said, replace the grease in your diffs with silicone oil and you should be ready to go with some extra cash in your pocket.

I own a CRT and I love it. It's my baby and it kick !$$ at the track, don't get me wrong. But, with a budget like you say, prob the Losi 8T, If you go RTR. If you go Kit, well, your gonna have to spend a little more than $800 I think to get up to the RTR 8T specs. But, that in entirely IMO.

Well it varies of course, but just think like this.
New Roller-$400.00-500.00
New Motor-$150.00-250.00
Radio equip.-$150.00-300.00
BUT, If you have an engine and radio equipment you can switch over and be happy with, All you need is to get a roller. By all means, if you have the stuff to switch over do it. A pro kit is by far the best way to go fo a race ready truggy.

They say they are fast, you know "they" right? But just cause it is what it is, great motor, okay servos, great radio, endless aftermarket support, and a great platform top build on for hop-ups and go fast goodies. And it comes with, if I am not mistaken, losi's equivalent to Pro-Lines LPR series wheels and tires. Personally, never seen one at my track, yet. Can't wait to give some of my CRT love to an 8ightT. It would be fun.

Well, than I am sure you are not short on insight into the 8ightT at all. And if you can get parts easily, go for it. It sounds like you will have a very broad support base too.
On the other hand, wouldn't be fun to have something different to make those Losi boys and girls kinda scratch their heads? With the proper planning, a quick trip to the LHS is not needed come race day.
