I would get the 7955 again, I've raced just about every weekend since april and haven't had a single servo issue, my end points are set so nothing ever binds. Not sure what your tracks look like where you are but we have lots of big jumps that have turns just after it and the extra toque helps the turns when landing alot. Set your servo saver right as well and you won't have a issue.
Not sure where Qaiz is hope he's all good

I think the picco p3 is almost the same as the Jammin, mines moded a little But hauls the mail

WOW, BIG track!! I see you are also very demanding on steering servos yourself.....holding that apex on that fast section!

Very nice!! What tires are those and what's the red hardware? Also, you running more toe-in in the rear and how did it react? How do you like the .28, why not .21.....running any venturi? One more for ya, what kinda things are kind of a "must have in your eyes that I may wanna check out for the aftermarket for the X2? All I'm ordering so far is stainless hardware. Sorry for all the questions, just REALLY curious on what works and what doesn't and want a good start with this one and do it right. Thanks!!!!!!!!

The tires are AKA city blocks. The toe in the rear helps it turn, not that it lacks turning, but I want it to turn on a dime. To tell you the truth I'm learning as I'm going, If I break something I try to replace it with better parts. I tried a o.s. .21 in the beginning of the year but it lost all compression within 2 gallons of fuel so I shelved it and bought another Jammin .28 which I ran last year and love it, you need more throttle control to keep from spinning out but that saves gas in my opinion. It also has decent fuel milage I normaly get 8 mins max but it seems everyone stops at 7 mins any ways. I do go though it after every race weekend and re-oil all the bearings, and after 2-3 weekends change the diff fluids and shocks.

Well I'm off to the track to practice, Have fun!!!!!!

Do you remember if you use the shock piston with the larger holes or the smaller ones?

Nevermind I have the 1.4 pistons.
So did you notice a big or just slight difference in steering between the 1015 to the 7955tg? Torqu is more but speed is down...................but is it noticeable?

The speed is plenty fast, with the 1015 I had to put some expo in to slow it down to where it wasn't twitchy. Sometimes fast isn't always the answer if you can't control it

I took your advice and went with a TS-170 (5955/7955) for the steering. ordered a Jammin JPX .28, and Painted and cut the body this weekend> Body came out soooooooo good!!!!!!!!! .......for me anyway with two cans and some tape! Will this forum let me post pics yet with this noob post count?

I feel good about the servo choice ( lots of backup with people liking them) and I only need one servo incase lipo is in the future......thanks for the advice J24gordon! Any disadvantage to running 4 lithiums in that crappy 4xAA pack? They last a long time!!!

I think you only need 10 posts in order to post pics, I use photobucket for posting pics, just copy the image code to your reply. You'll love the Jammin .28, on smaller tracks I set my end point of my throttle servo to only open about 1/2 way and still have plenty of speed.
I use a nimh 1700 rec. pack and get close to a hour of run time, never tried the 4 AA's though

Do you know if my new TS-170 is a 5955 or a 7955 clone? Cause I think only the 7955 can handle unregulated lipo.

OMG......I just typed a pretty large write up and the server timed out and lost it......I'm sooo mad right now that I have to go for a short walk before I check myself into an asylum.

Ok I'm back!!
To be short, I'll try for some pics this week (prob Sat.) if the wife doesn't task me too hard i was suppose to race the Short Coarse Nationals Sat & Sunday but think I may just enter the new truggy at Wolcott Raceway instead on Sunday if I can Break it in and de-bug it their on Sat. Is this site going to let me post pics and hopefully a video of Wolcott's new track layout with my low post count? The body came out REALLY good ......for me anyways without airbrushing. I tried to do something slightly similar to qaiz's body but with bright orange and VERY metallic silver. After starting it though, it was clear that he airbrushed and I though I may have ruined a body but it looks great and may even be good enough for a magazine cover (trying the best I can to be modest but it Does look good for my lacking artistic ability) The servos I eventually went with are the 1013 for the Th/BR (as you know) and picked up a JR 8711 for the steering for too many guys at the track were going through 9100T's and recommended the 8711 ALL THE WAY! This thing is SICK in the least. Push down on the truck on dry clean pavement and turn the wheel as the tires scrape along at just about the same speed as if they were in the dirt at normal load!!!! Also picked up for the power unit a new Picco .28 JL TEAM (black heatsink) that has some SICK stas to it and is suprisingly good on fuel even on the break-in settings. Right now I'm using the servo epa for break-in for I can't trust myself and want to do it right. Used 20% oily Traxxas fuel for 3 tanks then switched to my Odonnels 30% R2R. This Fuel has 14% oil that is mostly a cleaner synthetic blend vs 16%+ oil that has more grimey, gooey, messy castor in the Traxxas stuff that is only ok for breaking an engine in according to the guys I've talk to at the LHS that have been racing around the world (on their own budget) and value their opinion. At the half throttle break-in stage (doing the heat cycle method that I beleive in from bike motors) it feels like my newer Savage X 4.6 at full! ....got a good feeling about this motor! ......can't imagine starting it with anything less than the dual motored OFNA "TRUGGY START". But the best part is these servos!! I can go on and on about these things..........just perfect, almost too much power for their designated application. Also, ya REALLY DO NOT need any more speed than this. My first priority at first was FAST servos. But neither are the fastest on the market but are plenty!!! even if I wanted faster than i'll just sharpen it up on the ol' trusty Futaba 3pm Fasst. I'm still waiting on the TS-170 (HS-5955) from Tower and think I'll keep it as a spare or use it on the Ofna Hyper STe that I just ordered!!! Now that too will be SICk with the Mamba Max and 5700kv on the 2s or 3s lipo's all comming out of the AE SC10. Too make things short, I LOVE these servos and it's rare in this hobby/sport to leave something alone or wanna keep it vs sell. GREAT Servos are NOT to be shorted on ever again and make the overall feeling of a truck sooooo much better. However, I can't really complain about my ebay "PPP" servos with a claimed 208oz. /.13 sec. MG coreless, digital @ 6v. It doesn't feel that fast but it IS strong and pretty smooth; and for $35.00 shipped (if ya look good) is an absolute bargain worth using in 1/10 scale or as a pretty desent spare for the $$. Just did a test pic .....lets see if it workd and where.

Just ordered the King Headz rear brace after breaking the original stock brace a few weeks ago and another stock brace yesterday after some bashing on a homemade dirt track. Changed the front one to KH's a while ago but they were back ordered at AMain until this week for the rear one. I'll have it tomorrow..

Anyone have any issues after switching over to KH braces?

Hi guys, sorry no pics yet like I said. Is this brace a weak point on the truck worth going stronger or just have a spare plastic one? If it's a repeated offender than I'd go King, thanks! BTW, I'm getting a lot of ail swap on decel. ........thicker on the front diff?
