Default IS the losi muggy a truggy??

Does anyone know if the losi muggy is a truggy??? Are there big differences between the losi 8eight and the muggy??? I like both RTR kits just wandering if the muggy would get smoked by the eight. I know that the muggy's tires are bigger that seems to be a racer's nightmare. I like both but wanted to know if the muggy could compete sioldly with other truggies in a race??? thanks Mark

Muggy is built off the platform of the lst and truggy platform is from the buggy. I havent seen a muggy run but I would half to say the truggy would be faster

if you want to race in truggies get a 8ight-t but i have nothing against a muggy since i havent seen one run but it probaly take some upgrading. You would need to lose weight if you are goin to compete

the 8ight is the most race ready rtr IMO

i have a Muggy and a friend of mine has an 8ight-T, the Muggy sits higher out of the box and is built more for bashing. To make the Muggy a Truggy, you'd need to change a few parts, starting with the wheels and gearing

i've seen some muggys in action and it's somewhat a slow truggy or a very fast monster truck. But the desing is closer to a monster.

The design is closer to a truggy, based on the fact most if not all.. maybe excluding 1/6 scale, Monster trucks drive axles are below the chassi and most monster trucks have gear boxes. The muggy is a flat chassi with no gear box and the axles are above the chassi.
Once ytou take those massive stupid 40 series off it looks alot less like a monster truck

So the muggy is closer to a truggy, but is out classed by true truggys mainly due to weight,

The Muggy is a truggy.

Flat pan chassis, center diff, etc..

It's just a beefy truggy for bashing, that's all.

For racing get the 8T.

For bashing - launching off ramps, etc.. - with your buddies with Savages, LST2's, MGT's etc, get the Muggy - cuz it's as tough as anything out there, then smoke them in fun races on a track. In real organized competitive racing against other truggies you'll be at a pretty big disadvantage.

It's a cool truck - for bashing. It was never intended to be a pure-bred racer.

the Muggy would be more "truggy-ish" if it didn't have the massive LST style shocks and 40 series wheels.

Why doesn't someone jsut make a sticky stating what a TRUGGY is.

-Uses a flat pan chassis.
-Has 3 differentials (front, center, rear).

Done simple.........

BOTTOM LINE IT IS A TRUGGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally own both, and race both....The muggy is a great racer, even with the stock setup. It races in the monster truck class, but sometimes can fit in the truggy class. I would stick with the monster class. It's fast, but it's definitely not as fast as the 8ight-T. I think they both are great vehicles.

At most tracks they are put in the MT category. Why would Losi release 2 truggies?

If I was to race a monster truck ( i race truggy), I would be very angry if they let a mugg in the class. Its a truggy.

Muggy will not destroy a Revo. I have beat all the Muggy's at my track with my Revo. Infact, lap time wise, we have revo's running very close lap times to truggies and buggies.

That's entirely possible. But what's that saying about the quality of the buggy and truggy drivers at your track.

Trust me it's good. Of course we have alot more Truggys and buggys so they have alot more traffic to get through then the MT class.
