What .21 engine in my truggy?
Hi guys.
I've been looking for an .21 engine for a long time, but I can't seem to find one that fits what I'm looking for.
I have my eyes on a few, but I can't decide. My budget is under 350$.
What engine would you prefere? .21 or .28?
And what are you running in your truggy?
Thanks,
Bassen

RE: What .21 engine in my truggy?
Im running a Go .21 5 Port in my Mugen and it has no trouble shifting it around the course being on par with the Buggies speed wise, although they get out of the corner a fraction quicker but thats expected as there lighter. I'm running mine with a JP-1 13/46 as its a tight twisty track.
Its a buzz hearing Truggies scream at 40k RPM

Jammin .21 modded by the "right" guy willl LAY the smack down to most other high end .21's.....28's are overkill in tuggy unless u feel u need that raw tire churning power outta the hole...if your a novice i could see a .28 being a little easier to get around the track as a .21 require's smoothness not just SHEER POWER to pull off stuff on the track....a .24-.25 would be a nice in the middle solution.

Theres a Hyper ST which is running a LRP Z.28R Spec.3 motor and that is very fast, he has the car setup perfect for the track and i must admit the thing is ballistic. Hes got the setup right, but the engine still has to have the power to move it around which is does!

imo Picco/jammin/Trinity are some of the best mills $$ can buy....sure its not a 400$ ninja or speed......but will easily run with em when u get the motor tweeked....and actually out run some of them aswell top and bottom.

I already have a Ninja .28. But at the moment I'm getting 5 mins on a tank.
So I'm looking for an engine I can tweak out to run more than 5 mins..

Yes but the Picco's hammer on the Speed and Ninja 21's........ Maybe that doesn't make the Picco's better, but they sure are faster and nastier ! IMHO the only 21 I have seen that can come close to punch of the Picco's is the RB C6......... Once the mods start nothing will match the pop of the Picco's......

Look at it this way,
If your new, your not going to be able to make use of the power out of the high end .21s
I see alot of people actually become a better driver when they use a motor with a little less power.
at 350 bucks you can buy a serious lay the smack down motor,
Take a look at Go's, Sirios, Piccos, OS
Id only spend half of that if it was me,, i've learned that having at RB or Nova is just for show for what I do, kinda like driving the lambo to wal-mart, you just look stupid.

With a $350 budget you will have no problem finding a .21 to fit your needs. I Run a RB S7 in my Truggy and has way more then enough power.

I run a novarossi plus 21 7-BT and I really really like this motor, I'm on my 9th gallon right now and it's still running strong..so it's a bit over your price range but it's still worth looking at..durability and performance a tough combination to beat..

RE: What .21 engine in my truggy?
under 350:
go's make great power i think the 5 port is right at home in a truggy($230)
os vspec(mosterous torque and top end $300)
jammin motors(much like vspec just a little less top imo $250 range)
sirio sti i think it's under 350 and it's fast 2
the new trinity motor un modded will also be under $350 and it's supposed to be fast(but haven't seen em running on my side of town just yet)
really it depends on what you want:
the os is something that everyone has and it's for a reason out of the box it is one of the fastest motors again IMO that you can buy it's problem being it's not warrantied..but these engines are easy to tune and run very reliable
go's make good power, break in on them are a bit of a task(Due to high metal pinch when new) are fast can't vouch for how long they'll last as i messed mine up @2gallon mark due to operator error(make sure you buy from an authorized go dealer other wise you will have no warranty like me)
jammin/picco motors never owned one but silly fast as well and picco's last for a while and i believe they are warrantied to an extent as with go's

RE: What .21 engine in my truggy?
Thanks for the help guys, I apriciate it.
It seems like I have to get an engine with turbo plugs then.
I have had my eyes on the Axe Rossi Competion Engine, have you guys tried that one yet?
What brands do you recommend? Novarossi, RB, OS Engines, GO Tech, Jammin' or Trinity?
*I still find that turbo plugs is harder to adjust*, so any engine with standart plug will do just fine.
