Default Is a Differential a Differential?

Is a Differential a Differential? What i mean is can i take a 1/8 scale Differential from say a 8ight-t and put it in some other 1/8 scale truggy?

No things are different from brand to brand for the most part.

I have taken the Diffs outta a few of my diff truggies and it appears that they are all the same for the most part, a little shimming and its good to go. Like the Losi Smart Diffs, they can be used in any 1/8 scale Truggy it appears. Useful info i think

There are exceptions. I can't remember for sure, but I think Jammin' X2 diffs will fit in a Kyosho or at least the internals will. Losi diffs, although they look similar to other diffs, probably have something about them that makes them fit only in Losi cars. Losi has a habit of making things proprietary. The only way to know for sure is to try, of course.

Smart Diffs fit the Raze ST for sure.
