leave off washers- you must have 1mm play, when clutch bell gets hot it expands and will bind if too tight-

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
My old HF with Os 28. Its currently running a 18T CB (just fits), 100 k centre diff, for some speed runs and got 96 k/hr (60mp/hr). I have another old HF i use for parts. Ive had the HF for aprox 3 yrs.
http://image2-9.rcuniverse.com/e1/ga...umb-178139.jpg
I did another few runs today with the 18T and only got 92k/hr. That sounds more realistic. 96k/hr didnt sound correct. The 18T CB is slightly to tight on the mesh and the os doesnt seem to like to push that gearing. 17 T CB is perfect for the speed runs, still revs out nicely. I have switched back to a 14T as its back to the track for a bash. I did hit a post hard today at high speed and didnt break anything, go old hellfire go.:D |
RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
my hellfire just wont work
nitro and all that stuff i need to start it its a rotostart and it just wont work does anyone know how to make it work? |
RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
Can you be a little more specific as to what the problem is?
Do you mean it wont start? If so what troubleshooting have you tried so far? The more info you can give us the better the help we can provide |
RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
like i dont see any swtiched i can turn
and when i go to start it no gas if being pumped, basically the only thing that happens is i get to waste my roto starters battery. |
RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
The battery switch is on the back of the radio box near the rear shock mount.
When was the last time you ran it? You need to prime the engine by covering the exhaust pipe opening, open the throttle all the way and then spin the engine over till fuel makes it to the carb. |
RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
i have never ran it
i just bought it from a guy what i dont have a switch for the remote or at least one i can find |
RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
and when i go to turn the motor over no gas goes in
|
RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
I dont have an on/off switch on my HF, i just plug the battery straight into the receiver. I blow into the fuel pressure tube to prime fuel to the carb. You only want a tiny amount of fuel to reach the carb. Dont flood the engine. Make sure your glow plug and ignitor is working. Let us no how you go:D
|
RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
Check the carb. If it hasnt been run in a long time it could be clogged from old oil residue. You need to make sure the fuel is getting into the carb.
Check the radio box and make sure you have a battery installed and that it is fully charged. You can look for the switch while you are in there. If you dont blow into the pressure tube with the carb open to prime the carb then you have to cover the exhaust pipe tip and use the roto start to turn the engine over to get the fuel to the carb. Take the glow plug out and put the igniter on it to make sure it works. Then reinstall it. Do you have any pictures of the truck? Im curious to see the condition its in |

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
What's an NX26? Never heard of one.
|
RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
novarossi maybe?
|
RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
Does Novarossi make a .26? Not that I know of. When in doubt, get a JPX.28
|
RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread
rossi makes a 2.1,2.5,3.5.4.6
the rayaracing repinch is holding up great so far. did a 8 tank heat cycle, then let her loose. i can't say to much because the engine ran so poorly when i received it. and i'm not sure on the performance of the k4.6HO with the stock gearing and diff fluids. i have an 1/8 ofna buggy that reaches 52mph so it makes the HF look like its not moving... i've decided to use the HF as a basher for parking lot racing. so i need more speed! thinking about taking the CB to 20 tooth. has anyone encountered any problem when running this high of CB with the 51 tooth spur? what kind of speeds can i expect to reach with this setup? if your using the k4.6HO and your reaching speed of 50mph or over please share you setup. thanks peace |
