Engine trouble with my crt
I'm having trouble starting my nitro engine. Its a Novarossi .28 528xrr.
Annyhow.. When I start it will die after I take off the glow plug ignitor, it will run with it while still attached but as soon as I take the darn thing off it will die 3-5 seconds later. It uses turbo style plugs and Ive been tried new c6tf's and c6tc's. Im using Blue Thunder 30%fuel. Any thoughts? Thanks, Adam |
RE: Engine trouble with my crt
i really cant tell you for sure but IMO, why not try a hotter plug?

RE: Engine trouble with my crt
Could be all sorts of tuning, or lack there of, issues. But a engine that runs until the glow igniter is removed is usually a result of a bad glow plug.

That's usually a sign of the engine being too rich. I'd try a hotter plug if the engine is already running a bit lean, or seems like it's tuned nicely. I know I had that problem with my Ninja .28 until I got a hotter plug, and then it ran like crazy.

RE: Engine trouble with my crt
good deal, ill try a hotter plug. The plugs cant be bad cuz ive used 3 so far all brand new. While its running the engine seams like a beast so ill keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks for the help. Adam |
RE: Engine trouble with my crt
well got it running and im stoked!!!!! All it needed was a hotter plug, now its holding 255f at 79f outdoor temp and i couldent be happier, now to get this thing to the track.
If any of you run at Revelation raceway hit me up maby we could go to a practice day or something. |
RE: Engine trouble with my crt
some one prob. said this but it rich, if you are breaking it in its fine to leave the igniter on for a tank then lean 1/8 tunr and that should stop it.

RE: Engine trouble with my crt
Well I got the truck running good but now I have another problem. Novarossi suggests running 25% in the truck, only problem is 25% is very hard to come buy. Should I use 20% or 30% or keep searching for 25%. Im located in the LA area, Hacienda Heights to be exact, so if you know of any shops that carry 25% please let me know.
Thanks, Adam |
RE: Engine trouble with my crt
Try mixing it. Im no math wizard or anything, so I couldn't even begin to tell you how. :)
