RE: engine help

adjust the idle screw

RE: engine help

Actually, adjust your endpoint(s).

RE: engine help

Actually, I'm pretty sure it would be the idle screw, considering changing the endpoints would require he adjust his whole linkage to get back the braking he lost from EPA.

or trim...

looks like a checklist I can use in a similar situation here . . .

RE: engine help

EPA/trim is NOT how you set the idle.

You set the idle with the idle screw.
Set the idle gap, with insert removed (if it has one), to .5mm or so and go from there.

Best bet is to read the manual that came with the car.
There was an addendum to the Losi 8B/8T manual that covers this area in detail.
On the 8ights, proper linkage/carb/brake setup is MANDATORY for servo life.
Get it wrong and you better own stock in your favorite servo manufacturer's company.

Good luck.

RE: engine help

He's not setting his idle. He said when he presses the brakes the
carb fully closes and the engine quits.

RE: engine help

if the idle screw's not set right it will close the carb lol
