my engine was acting up and was shutting off every time i pressed the brakes i looked into carb and the slide i think it is(the part that opens and closes the carb) closes fully when i press the brakes what do i do to open the carb some what when the brakes are being pressed its in a 8ight-t

Actually, I'm pretty sure it would be the idle screw, considering changing the endpoints would require he adjust his whole linkage to get back the braking he lost from EPA.

EPA/trim is NOT how you set the idle.
You set the idle with the idle screw.
Set the idle gap, with insert removed (if it has one), to .5mm or so and go from there.
Best bet is to read the manual that came with the car.
There was an addendum to the Losi 8B/8T manual that covers this area in detail.
On the 8ights, proper linkage/carb/brake setup is MANDATORY for servo life.
Get it wrong and you better own stock in your favorite servo manufacturer's company.

yeah thanks guys it was the idle it was way off. when i was trying to fix it before i wasnt adjusting the idle enough because it was so way off.
