RE: Jemco/Jet Hanger Master Scale SBD Build?
I have a friend with the P-47 cowl and glass fuse.
I had all the Jemcos at one time. One of the more scale ones were the Corsair. I have a full composite one taken off a Jemco Corsair around 19 (!!!!) years ago.
I should lay up another one. But I hate to do glass work. But I should.
Its is really forgiving and scale looking.

.............I also noticed you have an old Fiberclassics polyester cowl instead of the really thin vac formed plastic one. Is the radial included in the cowl, or did you put the vac form one in?..............

I need to add top scoop to cowl, to complete my transformation of it to a SBD-3.
I actually purchased the 'glass cowl several years before I picked up the (Jemco) kit. I bought it at Toledo one year, from either Fiberglass Specialties or some other outfit. Then I went home, doubled the size of my Guillows plans (have Guillows kit also), and proceeded to scratch all the parts for a 1/8 scale Dauntless (same size as Jemco). I think I still have the ribs and formers somewhere, no longer need them since I got the Jemco kit.

Corsair Jock,
Would you be willing to part with the P-47 Cowl?, I am also looking for a copy of the plans, I picked up a kit, and no plans were in the box.

subscribed. Looks great! any progress since last post? I am also sitting on a Jemco/Master Scale SBD 2-box version. Been looking for the Master Scale P-51. Currently only have prints for the P-51( can't build from the prints, great refrence for other items) too many parts are not on the prints except in 3D drawing, not in true size and shape.
Looking forward to an update on the SBD.

Any flight updates???
Any flight updates???
On the BVM F-16 Dynemax. 16lbs with 2x 6s, 30 -60c 5300mA. The first flight was a very simple event. Nice head wind, tracked straight down the runway, controlled easy lift off.
Flew around 3min, LG extended entire flight so not super fast, lots of drag on the BVM gear. EDF shut down around 3 min and ditched into dirt.
I have to give credit to this model, at 16lbs, (4lbs over instructions) it was like a gentle glider with an "into the wind ditch". Normally I pull the gear up on a ditch, but couldn't, so a little damage to some of the components resulted. No tip stall at all. A bit of luck and I'm sure slope soaring helped.
Nothing my mini lathe and mill couldn't make. The quote from BVM was $125.00 for a few parts. Just one part was needed form BVM. $25.00.
I do have a complete nib BVM F-16 gear set back up though.
Next flight around a week or two. Or when I am given soon time of my own.
SBD, still on hold.

thanks , their probably 150 now , i'll probly just go with a straight strut. id like to go with the 7/16 strut , but its going to have to support about 17 pounds , and their rated for 15 , you think they'll hold? this C A P DAUNTless is going to be porky.
no retracts , just 3/16 wire to the strut
