Anyone thought about going with the new Saito 57 cc twin? It's gas and should produce more power than a G62 since it's a 4-stroke. Not sure if it would fit inside the cowl since the valve covers stick up so much?

You can PM me your email and I can speak with you about it, no problem.

Here is another photo of the slipper tanks on the real plane. Looks like from the plastic model the variant used was an A7. The other image is of a die cast model.

Chris,
Ill send you a pm soon. The actual photo is the first i have seen, and has peaked my interest!

Jeff, unfortunately none of the available twins, either gas or glow will fit inside the cowl on the sist entirely. Now, if you dont mind having things poking out, you would be fine. But for us die-hards, that just is not acceptable

I have and looked into it, the head to head dimension is stated as 9.1in but no clue if that includes plugs. I have my eye on that engine precisely because my Saito 325R5 is not strong enough according to the guys on here. The sound should be pretty sweet I think.

Now if you did the desert version with the dust filters on both sides you could probably get away with it! LOL!

I believe the dimensions they give on the horizon website is just for the engine and does not include the plugs or plug caps. You can add another inch or 2 for those.

Yeah you would think they would post the absolute dimensions on there with drawings or photos so it helps you figure this stuff out.

Chris, thanks for all those pictures, they will definately come in handy! I'm sticking with my final 3 schemes to choose from. Still don't know but it will be one of the 3.

Bob, Honestly I'm still leaning towards Blue 13. To bad I don't have two planes, I would do both

Thought some more on it and here are the two finalists. My 190 will be one of these 2.

I'm thinking it is 75% going to be Blue 13.

Just barely hit pay now. Warbird colors ordered!

Didn't see it on the website, but is the hardening catalyst for warbird colors sent with an order or is it separate and I missed it?

Curt,
Im a pretty horrible painter, but even i made the warbirds color stuff look good! The stuff covers extremely well, and is easy to use. Im using a hvlp gun with a 1.4mm tip and i was thinning it 25%, and 50% for the airbrush.

Doug, I looked long and hard lately and it was a tough decision but I decided that I would be happiest with Blue 13 or possibly Black 1

I really still do like yellow 12, I'm just going for one with a little less weathered look so that I can try to acheive the look I want with the skill I have. There is also just something about Blue 13 that I really just love. Don't be mad at me.

Thomas, Thats good to hear. especially the coverage level. I was a little nervous that I may not have ordered enough of the red and yellow. Should be fine though after hearing that. I did order a whole quart of the RLM 76 as I will shoot everything with it as you did and go over it with everything else. Maybe I didn't need a whole quart but thats what I ordered, everthing else was pint down to 1/4 pint.

Curt

Just to jump off topic I pickup a new plane an Air World Electric EDF Me-262. The detail is not up to the SisT FW190 but not bad but one thing I do have to make is a cockpit because no one makes a kit for it.

I mixed up about 8 to 10oz of 76, spilled half of it out of the gun cup, and still had 2 or 3 ounces left after everything had a uniformed coat. I used a total of at most 3/4oz of the 81 and 82 colors.. it takes very little paint to cover the underlying color.

Wow! Guess I'll have enough to do more Luftwaffe birds. Definately have plenty 76 to do the 162 then. Or 5

Yes it is, I've got the retracts ordered and made a choice to go top drawer with 2 new Stumax 11 blade 90mm ducted fans.
