IT FLIES GREAT!!!
IT FLIES GREAT!!!
Incidentally, I am working on linking up the ailerons and flaps now. Ailerons are straightforward, but I am a bit confused about the flap-linkage. Will the screws not stick out between the underside of the wing and the top-surface of the flaps, and thus jam the flap-movement in the up-position?

Congrats Ticketec Now that some of you guys have flown this bird the next big complaint will be ''Where is the Video!'' LOL. You may want to try a 20X12 XOAR...I know its a smaller diameter but you may be surprised to find what it will do for your airplane. Happy Flying Ticketec

Thanks guy's. It has been a bit of a slog to here it into the air but it's done and flying great as we all expected a Dora to be.

Mud: CoG set as per the ESm instructions and to be honest, I didn't have a whole heap of time on both flight to really check it, but it couldn't have been to far out then either
Thanks

Nice looking semiscale airframe if you like flying lead sleds.

Wow Flycatch,
Semiscale? it is an ARF, no one here is saying it's superscale, but I am now looking forward to you posting some of you SCALE model pictures here. And lead sled?? 82" and 25lbs? Also looking forward to you posting your highly detailed scale models that come in at well under that weight.
Thanks
dave

Congratulations! Great inspiration to those of us who are further behind. But I'll be ready in April!

The head of the bolt and the big washer go inbetween the flap and the wing structure, but it clears it. plenty of room in there.
Thanks

Congratulations Ticketec! Well done.
Hey Flycatch; lead sled? Strange you should call it that.
Look at the video at 3:44. Not much of a lead sled, if you ask me. More like a feather??
Some weight is in fact an advantage in a warbird. You are flying it, not the wind.
Quite astonishing what happens when the wingspan is greater than about 2 meters.

A very very nice model! Amazing how slow it was possible to land the Dora.

I have just ordered ty's cockpit kit from VQ models, but I think I will replace the instrument panel with the Inzpan one seeing as that is what is most seen.
Thanks

I missed the ''lead sled'' did I watch the right vid?
Jeesh Flycatch....Decaf man! If that plane slowed down any more it would be standing still on that approach!

Flycatch, if you want it to stand completely still in the air, maybe you should be looking for a helicopter?

RE: ESM FW D-9
Hey ticketec,
Thanks for the video !! I have my own internal struggle going on for my winter project about which engine to use. With your success with the XYZ 53cc I may end up with an XYZ of my own yet.
I loved the steep approach and short field landing. Really nice.
Any plans to test a 3 blade set up?
I found this video running a 19x11x3.

Thanks for posting your flight. Really Fun....

Thanks for the 53cc run video Speed hair over 7000rpm on a 19X11 3 blade is pretty respectable...So you go to a 20X12 or 21X10 and you should be in the mid 6000 range, Sweet, that should blister the sky. The engine has some decent authority in power based on Tics video...My YZ 48cc twin with a 20X10 never pulled out of a climb like Tics FW did. This is a good engine guys

Or to put it another way;

Any model with a wing loading above 40 is ''hot and nasty''.
Any model with a wing loading above 40 is ''hot and nasty''.
you joking right?
As others have stated, and I have personally experienced by actually flying the model.. There is nothing hot and heavy about this model.
Wing loading is only 1 figure or bit of data that tells the story about how a model flies, there are many other important figures and information that will govern how a model performs.
Thanks
