Default Yellow Aircraft - P40 ENGINE REQUIREMENT

Stupid question, will the yellow aircraft P40 take a 3W-75i in it?

Im 1/2 way through a 94" model design P40, and to be frank, im dissapointed in the quality of the fibreglassing. Panel lines run all-over the place, and the fuse has seperation and cracking all through it.

Thinking of ditching my current project and purchasing the yellow aicraft - P40 kit. Seems it is highly detailed and quite complete as a kit.

Thoughts?

What brand of kit are you working on so we know what to look out for?

Default Yellow Aircraft - P40 ENGINE REQUIREMENT

About the 3W75, I haven't built a Yellow P-40, but I have the Yellow Zero and Razorback P-47 and the 75 is way too much engine, that would work fine in a Ziroli though.

The Prototype Yellow P-40 has a 3W50 for power. According to Gary Dye, the builder and flyer, its plenty enough engine for the plane. Given its size and weight I should think something in the 50cc range would be perfect. Regards BobH.

You guys are beginning to make me a little nervous on my 3w-70 engine selection on my Y/A Spit. Plane is close to completion. Guess I'll fly somewhare around half left stick.

Mark, No need to worry.. you can always use that left stick for throttle manage ment huh lol.. I have a Moki 1.8 on mine and it could use a bit more power for the low, fast , fly byes. But it does fly scale like with that engine. Regards BobH.

Thanks Bob. I fly my Byron Hellcat around at half throttle using a G-62. Flight very scale at that speed and quite fast a full open. Of course pulling up into loops with the Spitfire should be almost effortless with the 3W-70.

Hey Bob, I think it may be a 3W-60, but he has mentioned in the past he would have gone with the 70 had he to do over. That is why I planned for the 70 before I began construction. I just communicated with Evan this afternoon. Great guy and very helpful. I am almost through with construction. Pictures are coming; I promise.
