Eleven pounds on the dot. Fellow club member Joe Martinez did the wing loading, cube loading, engine HP, propeller and RPM math. It took off at little more than half power and without flaps, no less. Two clicks of up and 2 clicks of aileron trim and it barreled along nicely. Flight shots and video to come. G.

That's really cool. For all the Zero's out there you never see a Rufe! Very nice presence in air and on the water! Planes on the water just like a real one should.
Clean engine install as well...I didn't even see the tiny muffler at first.

The pilot and 3 blade prop are excellent! Detail is nice! Worth a trophy I'd say.

Who doesn't love a nice seaplane?

Thanks so much! I took the effort to hide the on-off switch and charging jack behind a discreet, flush mounted hatch on the starboard side, just behind the exhaust flaps.
Where the scale exhaust pipes are, I hid the remote glow connection and in the other, the remote fueling inlet. The cowl mounting screws are mounted between the faux scale Sakae engine cylinders so no screws are seen on the outside of the cowling. The OS 4-S lifter covers are completely hidden in the scale carb scoop on the bottom.
Beside more extensive weathering to be applied, side consoles in the cockpit will be added, along with scale anti-submarine bombs under the wings. G.

I don't know it's still an empty air frame. Floats need fiberglass to seal them. Bit of work still ahead.
