Default The passing of a cool looking Bf-109

What can I say? The walk of shame as you carry your pieces past everyone in the pits, answering the "what happened" question a dozen times. Sigh... as I saw it, the engine started burping a little too much for my tastes. I announce a landing. Runway is clear. I am on a short base to a long final.(takes this baby a bit to slow down with the OS 160 in it) I have the gear down then lower the flaps. As I make my left turn to final I did not hear the engine anymore, then suddenly she snapped and spun into the Russian Olive trees. Fortunately they slowed the impact somewhat and with all the rain we have had the ground was pretty soft.

Fuse survived pretty much, but the wing...

The Russian front was always DANGEROUS !

its a shame on the plane..

Hopefully you have some plans, or can make new wing parts and get it back in the air quick. I suppose having the retracts and flaps all in the wing will make it a little harder to fix than a fixed gear wing. Anyhow if you don't fix it right away, put it on the shelf ...and sometime you will think, IT AIN"T THAT BAD !

And you will start gluing it back together,

Sorry for your loss, though it looks as though a new wing would be all it would take?

On a side note, where do you fly? I don't recognize that field it looks nice.

So sorry to see that Asanders especially after I had two great flights with my 109 today.
I would be pretty (quietly) upset if that was me.
Hope you mend it.

Cheers,

Brad
