National History Day DVD by my kids team.
Hi Gents
I have a favor to ask. Would you guys please check out a youtube DVD my kid and his team (3, 11th graders) made for National History Day " NHD documentary The Tuskegee Airmen". They won the High School competition, then the county competition, but were eliminated at the state level for incorrect format for the sources of info. A painful way to be eliminated. But one must move on.
They are limited to 10 minutes. The highlight is a personal meeting with a real Tuskegee Airman, Master Sargent Buford Johnson. This legend spent two hours with us.
A life enriching moment for all.

Thanks All

Hi All
Thanks for the comments.
I had a chance to look at the judging/feed back sheets by the 3 judges. All are public school history teachers. One of the three judges gave all perfect scores, except for one item that mentioned the intro being too long.
The other two judges were father and daughter, they both gave almost the same very poor scores and comments, citing it was historically inaccurate, music unidentified, and sub-tittles difficult to see. And not much effort put out to create. Draw you own conclusions.
I am of course biased in my opinion. I am looking to have them learn from this experience, however, when the "judges" fail to pay attention to components that are in place, i have no explanation. Getting a documented Tuskegee Airman to talk to us, in person, was a major feat in itself. Many of the appointments to meet with the boys were canceled at the last minute.Finding Mr. Johnson took months. And, of course we all understand that these guys are older, and they have better ways to spend their time then to meet with a bunch of high school kids they don't even know.
Anyway.
Thanks
Again
